Jay-Z Wants Nothing To Do With ‘Nut Job’ Kanye West

It seems that Jay-Z reportedly thinks Kanye West is a “nutjob.” In a rant that sounds more like that of a spurned lover than a colleague or acquaintance, Kanye West went on a rant about Jay-Z, and Jay-Z just wants to distance himself from the whole mess. It seems that if Kanye thought that he and Jay-Z were family, he was sadly mistaken.

Kanye West has long been known as a man with foot in mouth disease, whether he is ranting about Taylor Swift, or likening his wife Kim Kardashian to a historical figure, Kanye often doesn’t quite get it right, says the Inquisitr. Recently, Kanye likened Kim Kardashian to a modern day Marie Antoinette. It seems he didn’t fast forward through the Kirsten Dunst movie, but things didn’t really end well for poor Marie, and when all was said and done, she wasn’t too popular with the people.

It seems that something got Kanye West all riled up, and he decided to vent during one of his concerts, says PageSix. Maybe it was the robbery in Paris, but Kanye put his laser focus on Jay-Z, and went off, saying that their children have never had a playdate. Now this seems like more of a personal problem to hash out over coffee, but West shared it with the audience.

“You wanna know how I’m feelin’? Come by the house… Bring the kids by the house like we brothers… Our kids ain’t never even played together.”

But an industry insider says that Kanye and Jay-Z were never BFFs.

“Jay can’t stand him. He looks at him as this crazy, eccentric motherf ***er he can tolerate in small doses. Kanye is a nut job. Everyone knows that.”

Everyone might know it, everyone but Kanye West, perhaps. It seems that Jay-Z believed a collaboration between the two would be profitable, but it’s all about how much Kanye Jay-Z can tolerate. Sources close to Kanye say that Jay-Z understands Kanye’s eccentricities and genius, but the industry source says that is just Kanye’s perception.

“The reality is that Jay doesn’t want that much to do with him. He likes his own space and is private. They’re very much not the same person. Jay’s immediate circle is very insular, and Kanye is just a guy who always wants something in the spotlight.”

But the Philadelphia Inquirer suggests that perhaps it’s not that Kanye West is upset that he and Jay-Z aren’t BFFs, but rather that it has just been announced that Jay-Z is the first rapper to be nominated to the Songwriters Hall of Fame. If inducted, Jay-Z will then be the first rapper in the hall of fame, and that perhaps has painted Mr. West a bit green with envy. The list of nominees was released yesterday, and others nominated are George Michael, Madonna, Bryan Adams, Vince Gill, Babyface, Kool & the Gang, Cat Stevens, Sly Stone, Chicago, Gloria Estefan, Jeff Lynne, and David Gates.

The gala is in New York in June, and the winners will be officially inducted then. Five songwriters or songwriting groups will be chosen, and those not selected can come up for nomination again. It is not unusual to be passed over the first time. For the industry, this is a high honor, and so West might wonder why he wasn’t the first rapper to make the cut.

Kanye West is now suggesting that he won’t be working with Jay-Z again, but if sources are correct, it doesn’t seem like Jay-Z is too upset.

Do you agree it should be Jay-Z and not Kanye in the Songwriters Hall of Fame?
