Uma Thurman Signs On For Hardcore Sex Film ‘The Nymphomaniac’

Shia LaBeouf isn’t the only one making recent headlines over his role in Lars Von Trier’s upcoming The Nymphomaniac. The film, which is rumored to include hardcore, un-simulated sex scenes, has also added Uma Thurman to the cast list.

Von Trier, the controversial filmmaker known for the films Antichrist, Melancholia, and for seemingly sympathetic comments about Adolf Hitler in 2011, is collecting an all-star cast for his upcoming film The Nymphomaniac, which is reportedly about sexual exploration. The film might actually end up being two films in the end, and boasts a cast that includes Shia LaBeouf, Stellan Skarsgard, Christian Slater and Jamie Bell in addition to the recently announced Thurman.

The film centers on star Charlotte Gainsbourg, and takes a journey through her character’s sexual history.

“[The movie] is what you think it is,” LaBeouf told MTV about the rumor that the film would include real sex scenes between the cast members. “It is Lars von Trier, making a movie about what he’s making. For instance, there’s a disclaimer at the top of the script that basically says we’re doing it for real. Everything that is illegal, we’ll shoot in blurred images. Other than that, everything is happening.”

Other cast members have suggested that LaBeouf’s comments were a bit too enthusiastic.

“When we call this a porno, it’s meant ironically but irony doesn’t work well in print,” Stellan Skarsgard told THR.”The film is sexually explicit but, believe me, it will be a very, very bad wanking movie.”

Thurman has been cast in an un-specified role.
