Jason And Molly Mesnick: Former ‘Bachelor’ Contestants Expecting Baby
Congratulations are in order for former Bachelor stars Jason Mesnick and his wife, Molly Malaney Mesnick.
The couple of three years confirmed to People magazine (and via Twitter) that they are expecting a baby together due in March 2013.
“Yes its true! WAHOOOOOOO!!! Molly is going to be a MOM and TY a BIG BROTHER! YIPPEEEEEEE,” Jason Mesnick tweeted to his fans.
Molly, 28, also took to the popular social networking site and wrote:
“I step away for 5 minutes & come back to a ton of love. Thank you! We couldn’t be more excited about the pint size peanut on the way :).”
AceShowbiz notes it will be the first child for Molly and the second for Jason Mesnick, who has a 7-year-old son named Ty from a previous marriage.
Jason and Molly, who met on season 13 of ABC’s reality dating show, The Bachelor, shared the special news with young Tyler over a game of hangman using “Tyler is going to be a big brother” as the answer.
“He’s really proud,” Jason, 36, told People magazine. “[Tyler’s] been asking me for years. He’s always wanted to be a big brother.”
As Hollywood.com points out, the excitement surrounding the Mesnick’s forthcoming baby is a far cry from Jason and Molly’s rocky start. Though the happy couple met on Bachelor, Molly was actually the runner-up on the show.
Jason initially chose Melissa Rycroft at the end of season 13, but he broke up with her during the reunion show and asked Molly for a second chance.
The couple announced their engagement in October 2009 and later wed in February 2010.
