Rafa Shakes Off Stomach Pain, Tops Almagro In Straight Sets

Flushing Meadows, NY (AHN) – Third-seeded Rafael Nadal defeated No. 32 Nicolas Almagro 7-5, 6-4, 6-4 in a third-round U.S. Open match Sunday.
Nadal shook off stomach muscle woes to topple Almagro, suffering from back difficulties.
Both had trainers work on their ailments after the third game of the third set.
Nadal was not about to allow some pain to stop his quest for a career Grand Slam.
The U.S. Open is the only hole on his resume.
