‘Destiny’ Weekly Reset for Oct. 18, Update Day And Wrath Of The Machine Heroic Raid
New challenges and new Light levels await Guardians in Destiny for the game week starting Tuesday, October 18. Bungie will release update 2.4.1 to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One shooter later today, which will add the new Wrath of the Machine Heroic Mode difficulty level, increase the overall Light level, and juggle around some of the in-game rewards.
Full details on what will change with the 2.4.1 update was covered last Friday by The Inquisitr. A quick overview of the changes includes an overall Light level cap increase to 400 with increased loot levels for Nightfall, the Heroic SIVA Strike playlist, and Archon’s Forge up to 385 Light. Legendary Engrams will also decrypt at 385, while Rare Engrams will decrypt at 365. Also expect to see more Artifacts drop from Archon’s Forge and Ghosts from Faction packages.
It’s best to hold off decrypting Engrams and turning in Faction rewards until Destiny update 2.4.1 is released at 1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT. The Wrath of the Machine Heroic Mode will then launch at 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. ET to give everyone time to download the update.
Nightfall — Shield Brothers
Dreadnaught, Rings of Saturn: Travel deep into the heart of the Dreadnaught in pursuit of a Cabal assault team. Stop it from detonating the Hive ship’s core.
Modifiers
- Epic — Heavily shielded and highly aggressive enemies appear in great numbers.
- Solar Burn — Solar damage from any source is greatly increased.
- Juggler — No ammo drops for your equipped weapon.
- Grounded — Players take more damage while airborne.
- Catapult — Grenade recharge rate is greatly increased.
Weekly SIVA Crisis Heroic Strikes
Modifiers
- Heroic — Enemies appear in greater numbers and are more aggressive
- Void Burn — Void damage from any source is greatly increased.
- Small Arms — Primary Weapon damage is favored.
- Fresh Troops — Some enemy squads have been fortified with additional reinforcements.

- Fire Fighter — Use Solar abilities to kill enemies in Level 41 Prison of Elders or Challenge of Elders.
King’s Fall Raid Challenge Mode — Oryx (Guide)

The Destiny King’s Fall Raid challenge caps off this week with special conditions to beat Oryx. The Challenge mode condition is that players must detonate 16 Blight bombs at the same time to bring Oryx’s health down from full to almost zero.
The rewards for Normal Mode are a guaranteed 320 Helmet or Primary Weapon, 320 Artifact, and a Calcified Fragment. The Hard mode loot is the same as normal, plus a 330 Helmet or Primary Weapon, a 330 Artifact, Emblem, and a new Ship.

Court of Oryx (Guide) — Tier 3: Thalnok
This mini-Crota boss plays similar to the final Dark Below Raid encounter in Destiny, with a couple of twists. It will require teamwork as well. Like Crota, the only way to kill Thalnok is to bring his shields down to force him to kneel while a player whacks him with a sword dropped by a Knight.
