Bobbi Kristina Engaged, 19-Year-Old Confirms She Is To Marry Nick Gordon

Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of the late Whitney Houston and ex-hubby and former reality show co-star Bobby Brown, has confirmed she is engaged to “adopted brother” Nick Gordon.

Bobbi Kristina, 19, announced her engagement to Gordon on a sneak peek of the upcoming reality show The Houstons: On Our Own, and family members also appearing on the Lifetime property reportedly have not reacted well to Bobbi Kristina’s engagement.

Bobbi Kristina’s engagement seems to be a heavy plot point to hype the dramatic reality show that premieres on Lifetime on October 24, and as the singer’s daughter copes with her mother’s high-profile and unexpected death earlier this year, family members do not seem to support her relationship with Gordon.

In a televised preview, Bobbi Kristina’s aunt Patricia said her niece’s engagement is “unacceptable,” and Whitney’s brother Gary Houston admonishes Nick, saying:

“No one knew that from a godson you would turn into a boyfriend. No one knew that.”

Nick Gordon laments in the spot:

“The family has me out to be a bad person.”

Bobbi Kristina adds:

“They want to see us fail … We won’t.”

The spot also shows Bobbi Kristina talking about a big issue other than her engagement — her feelings about her mother. The grieving teen says:

“I didn’t see her as an idol. The glam and glitz … I didn’t see that. I saw a mom.”

In the past, Bobbi Kristina’s engagement has been reported upon after the singer’s daughter was spotted wearing a suspicious ring — but it would appear she and Nick Gordon denied the impending nuptials until the cameras were rolling.

Do you think it is too soon after her mom’s tragic death for Bobbi Kristina to consider getting married?
