Hillary Clinton Exposed: Leaked Emails Prove Her Staff Runs Her Twitter, What Else Is She Lying About?

There are 25 days until Election Day 2016 and it seems that every day, a new secret is exposed about each of the candidates. It has been revealed through leaked emails that Hillary Clinton’s Twitter account is being run by her staff. What else has the Democratic candidate been lying to the public about?

An email exchange was leaked by Radar in the latest Wikileaks dump. In that exchange, it revealed a group of Clinton’s staffers arguing about a hashtag they were proposing for a tweet to publish for Clinton’s account.

The email chain went back to April 2015. The chief of staff at the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Peter Colavito, kicked it off with an email to Clinton campaign chairman, John Podesta.

“We are really hoping the Secretary will react, through social media or however you see fit, to the incredible day of action that just kicked off to spotlight the crisis of underpaid work in the economy.”

The message was sent during the “Fight for 15” last year, in which domestic workers protested to demand a federal minimum wage of $15 an hour.

This email ignited a communal discussion between Clinton’s aides who were trying to come up with the best possible tweet to address the issue.

Hillary Clinton has publicly slammed Donald Trump for some of his outrageous tweets, but it seems that she is not even writing her own tweets.

Clinton’s digital director Katie Dowd wrote a proposed draft for the Twitter response.

“Team – how is this? Every American deserves a fair shot at success with a true living wage. I stand with fast food workers in the #fightfor15. —H”

But it took several emails back and forth between the group of staffers before they decided on Clinton’s Twitter response.

“I’m worried it is too strong. Don’t want her to come out for $15 at this stage.”

“Instead of standing with them, better to applaud them? How about: Every American deserves a fair shot at success with a true living wage. I applaud fast food workers in their #fightfor15. —H”

It is definitely no surprise that a lot of politicians, celebrities, and prominent public figures to not always write their own tweets. However, this tweet was clearly signed “—H,” to signify that it was directly from her, and it was meant to be a response to the protest for better minimum wage.

Beyond just revealing that Clinton does not write her own tweets, the emails between the staffers also revealed that Hillary may not be fully on board with the $15 federal minimum wage goal that is part of the DNC platform.

In early April 2015, New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio sent an email to Clinton advisor Neera Tanden and chairman John Podesta, asking if Clinton’s campaign would agree with some of his income inequality plans, which included the $15 minimum wage.

“Substantively, we have not supported $15 — you will get a fair number of liberal economists who will say it will lose jobs.”

“Most of rest seems fine (obviously trade sticks out). Politically, we are not getting any pressure to join this from our end. I leave it to you guys to judge what that means for you. But I’m not sweating it.”

It was just two weeks later that thousands of American workers began protesting in demand for $15 an hour minimum wage, The Guardian reported.

“Some 60,000 workers took part in the Fight for $15 demonstrations, according to the organizers.”

Throughout her primary, Hillary Clinton actually opposed the $15 minimum wage, according to the Intercept. Clinton instead insisted a minimum wage of $12 an hour in its place.

“However, the $15 minimum wage made it into the Democratic Party’s presidential platform — with the support of Tanden, who was a Clinton appointee to the platform committee.”

The leaked emails prove that Clinton was initially uncertain on the issue. How does Hillary really feel about these issues she supposedly supports?
