WWE News: Chris Jericho Provides Update On Kevin Owens Storyline

WWE Raw has some great talent on their roster. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns are among the best they have. Other WWE stars, such as Rusev, Charlotte, the New Day, Enzo and Cass, Sasha Banks, and Bayley, round out some of the mid-tier stars that have main event potential on a consistent basis. The women even wrestled in the main event of WWE Raw for the second time in history. Charlotte and Banks made history and set a legendary standard for women’s wrestling.

With all of that star power already on WWE Raw, there are two men who are single-handedly carrying the WWE’s flagship show every single Monday. Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens, who are best friends, bring the entertainment value that professional wrestling is based on and the seriousness that heels bring to the table. Jericho and Owens have the chemistry that many wrestlers wish they possessed.

Owens has been the WWE Universal champion since Finn Balor went down with a shoulder injury that needed to be surgically repaired. Since then, he and Jericho have taken WWE Raw by storm and continue to have the best segments on a nightly basis. Chris Jericho provided the WWE Universe with a new gimmick that is the internet Wrestling Community’s latest pride and joy, the List of Jericho. The veteran consistently creates moments that fans will never forget.

Now, the WWE Universe just doesn’t want them to break up, or even worse, Jericho to leave on another tour with his band, Fozzy, anytime soon. The former WWE champion always reinvents himself in the best way. In a recent interview, Chris Jericho provided an update on his WWE status and the storyline with Kevin Owens.

“I think the storyline with Kevin Owens and Jericho is just beginning. I think there’s a lot of legs to this storyline and it’s one of the rarest of things. It’s a storyline that basically built organically that was never supposed to be a storyline. I had that with Shawn Michaels in 2008 and Rey Mysterio in 2009. We just end up with this present, this great chemistry between KO and I. A lot of intrigue and mystery. A lot of interest from the people watching from the WWE Universe. I am really looking forward to seeing what’s going to happen at Survivor Series, Hell in a Cell and continuing forward. I think there’s a lot in the tank for Jericho and Owens. Especially from what’s transpired so far.”

It’s evident that both men need to be on WWE TV in a primary spot every single week. Without them, WWE Raw just isn’t interesting. Their counterpart, SmackDown Live, has great acts up and down the card. The red brand is top heavy, so their booking must be spot on for Owens and Jericho. In an earlier report by the Inquisitr, Rollins and Owens are set to have their rematch for the WWE Universal championship.

Since Balor won’t be ready to go until at least the Royal Rumble, Owens will need a new opponent after Rollins stops chasing the WWE Universal title. There will be a match against Triple H eventually, but it’s unknown when that will commence.

For now, Jericho and his list are taking over WWE Raw, and eventually the WWE Universal championship. It’s inevitable that the two will have a match together. Until then, enjoy the best friends as they are right now. Since the WWE is so unpredictable at times, you never know when Vince McMahon will break up Jericho and Owens. It could be sooner than most imagine.
