World War 3 Scare Continues, Putin’s Close Ally Tells Americans To Vote Trump If They Want To Avoid A Nuclear War

Fears of a third World War involving a nuclear war doomsday scenario continue to float around despite Russian officials debunking such claims. And now one of Putin’s closest ally, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, has urged Americans to vote for Donald Trump if they want world peace.

“Americans voting for a president on Nov. 8 must realize that they are voting for peace on Planet Earth if they vote for Trump. But if they vote for Hillary it’s war. It will be a short movie. There will be Hiroshimas and Nagasakis everywhere.”

Zhirinovsky, a member of the state Duma, has previously announced that he is a big fan of Donald Trump, even comparing himself with the Republican Presidential nominee. And now, as the internet continues to worry about the prospect of World War 3, he spoke to Reuters about the upcoming US election. Zhirinovsky, who recently received a state award from Putin, is considered to be a very close ally of the Russian President and his unofficial spokesperson.

Meanwhile, officials at Kremlin have rejected all claims that Russia is preparing for World War 3, instead accusing British tabloids such as Daily Mail & Daily Star of misinformed reporting. Earlier this week, the internet went into a frenzy over claims that Russian officials had been asked to bring their families back home from abroad. This news was first reported by znak.com, a Yekaterinburg-based news website that had cited five unnamed officials claiming that they had received an “unofficial recommendation” from Kremlin to bring family members living abroad back to the “fatherland.”

“Students studying in foreign universities should ask for transfer to Russian universities to continue their education. Elderly relatives will have to spend their retirement in Russia rather than in the West. The punishment for not following the alleged recommendation would be a stall in career.”

Russia Today (RT), Russia’s government-funded television network, asked Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov about these reports. Peskov told RT that this was the first time he had heard of such claims, thus completely debunking them.

Perhaps the Internet is really getting a bit too paranoid. But one could equally argue that maybe the Russian government is adamant about not letting the world in on its intentions. In either case, Russia has been involved in a lot of suspicious activities recently. The most recent in these series of activities is the Russian TV channel NTV’s warning to its viewers, urging them to be informed about the nearest bomb shelters, Daily Star reports.

Severe tensions have been developing between the United States and Russia over the Russian military’s intervention in Syria. Putin’s officials had previously announced that they had foreseen an attack by the U.S. right after the two nations break off their faltering talks over the Syrian conflict. After the talks had been officially suspended last week, Russia was involved in a series of high-level military drills, including a nuclear warfare preparation drill for its citizens. Furthermore, it has also been reported that Russia has moved nuclear-capable missiles near its Polish border.

In a rare interview, former Soviet statesman Mikhail Gorbachev spoke about the rising tensions between the two superpowers of the world.

“I think the world has reached a dangerous point. I don’t want to give any concrete prescriptions but I do want to say that this needs to stop. We need to renew dialogue. Stopping it was the biggest mistake.”

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry had warned earlier this month that the U.S. was “on the verge” of ceasing talks with Russia following weeks of severe air strikes by the Russian military on Aleppo. The United States government released an official statement last Monday, delivered by U.S. State Department spokesman John Kirby, saying that they had officially suspended all talks with Russia. Only hours before the U.S. government confirmed that they had ceased talks with Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin had signed a decree to suspend Russia’s agreements with the U.S. over the disposition of weapons-grade plutonium. The decree had cited “unfriendly acts” by the United States government.
