Tamra Judge Gives Update On Daughter Sidney: ‘It’s Actually A Heartbreaking Situation’

Tamra Judge decided to open about her custody battle on last year’s Real Housewives of Orange County reunion special and many people were shocked at everything that Judge had to deal with behind the scenes. Tamra had been keeping a big secret from viewers, as she didn’t have a relationship with her oldest daughter, Sidney. Her daughter had decided to live with her father, Simon Barney, after they divorced and she had decided to cease communication with her mother. After opening up about her custody battle last year, Tamra admits that things aren’t necessarily better.

According to a new Bravo report, Tamra Judge reveals that it is a heartbreaking topic for her and she rarely talks about it with her friends. It is so hurtful that she kept the secret for a long time and she only addressed the issue on The Real Housewives of Orange County because her co-stars were making comments about her relationship with her daughter.

“It’s hard for me to talk about. It breaks my heart,” Tamra recently told The Daily Dish about the relationship between her and her daughter, adding, “It was something I really wanted to keep off the show, and it’s so big in my life that it’s just too hard. And I feel like at this point if I can help others go through it, because divorce and when kids separate and pick sides, it’s not uncommon. But people don’t want to talk about it because they feel like, oh they’re a failure.”

It sounds like Tamra Judge is still dealing with this issue, as her daughter hasn’t reached out to her to make peace. Instead, her own son, Spencer, has made a decision to cut off his own father. He lives with Judge full-time, while their other children divide their time. One can imagine that he’s disappointed with his father and his sister. Or maybe he wanted to protect his mother, who has clearly been hurt by the entire thing.

“Well, Spencer lives with me full-time, Sidney lives with her dad full-time, and it’s actually a heartbreaking situation because he doesn’t talk to his father, and Sidney doesn’t talk to me. And the only time they see each other is when they pass each other in the hallways at school. It’s not the way I want it, you know? I beg and ask that we can fix it, but it’s got to be from both sides,” Tamra Judge explains, sharing that she has been a huge role model for people going through the same thing.

After sharing her story, many people have reached out to Tamra with similar stories. And they have all given her the same advice. They all encouraged her to keep texting, writing, and calling her daughter to let her know that the door is always open in case she wants to come back home to her mother. Judge reveals that it has been completely heartbreaking, but one can imagine she’s happy that she’s not alone in the battle.

“After I opened up about it on the reunion, all hell broke loose, and it was kind of a breakthrough in the sense that we were communicating,” Tamra Judge told The Daily Dish about sharing her story, adding, “It wasn’t necessarily the best communication, but we were communicating.”

One has to hope for Judge that her daughter will reach out to her mother, take the time to spend some quality time with her, and realize that she only has one mother-daughter relationship.
