‘Destiny’: Xur’s Exotic Goods For Oct. 14, Trespasser And Exotic Engram

Bungie mixed things up slightly with Xûr in Destiny for the weekend of Friday, October 14. The worm-faced vendor isn’t selling a Legacy Exotic Engram for the first time since the release of The Taken King. Instead, he’s selling a standard Exotic Engram that will decrypt to an item based on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One player’s current Light level.

It’s unclear if Legacy Exotic Engrams are gone permanently from Xûr’s inventory or if he will start switching between current and Legacy pieces. It will be something for Destiny players to keep an eye on in the coming weeks, but it is a welcome option.

Xûr can be found just outside of the Speaker’s building next to the railing overlooking the city this weekend. Turn left as soon as you spawn in the Tower and run straight to the north part of the social space. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map.

Xûr and his items will only be available in Destiny through the morning of Sunday, October 9. He will be gone as soon as the clock strikes 5 a.m. ET/2 a.m. PT.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.

Trespasser

Trespasser is the new Rise of Iron Exotic Sidearm. It’s Intrinsic Perk, “Be the Danger,” allows the weapons to fire bursts of bullets quickly. This gets even deadlier when combined with the “Unrepentant” perk, which fires a longer and more powerful burst when reloading after a kill. Sidearms have not gotten much love or use since they were added to Destiny, but this is one worth checking out.

MK. 44 Stand Asides

The MK. 44 Stand Asides serve a very niche role for those that enjoy using the Striker Titan sub-class’ Shoulder Charge ability. The “Be Somewhere Else” innate perk grants a longer duration for when the Shoulder Charge can be activated and gives a tighter turn radius while sprinting. This is best used in Destiny’s Crucible against other players. Even then, there are other Exotic armor pieces likely to be favored.

The optional perks for MK. 44 Stand Asides provide the choice between carrying more Shotgun Ammo or Machine Gun ammo. The 59 Discipline/60 Strength split stat is decent depending on how geared you are towards using Intellect toward your Titan’s super.

Bones of Eao

These are the Exotic Boots for Hunters who like a little extra spring in their jump. The Bones of Eao intrinsic “Not Bound By Law” perk upgrades double jump with an additional jump. This instantly makes the ship jumping puzzle in the King’s Fall Raid easier, along with giving Hunters a mobility advantage over other Guardians in PVP activities.

The 56 Intellect/59 Discipline stat roll is decent depending on your current setup. The choice between bonus Shotgun or Machine Gun ammo is also okay depending on your play style. It definitely fits the current PVP meta. Re-roll if you need different bonus ammo perks or a different set of stats.

Sunbreakers

The Sunbreakers are for all the Warlock Sunsingers (a.k.a. Sunbros) and has a specific focus on the Solar Grenades. The “Helium Cycle” intrinsic perk increases the duration of the Solar Grenade approximately another two seconds and grants a second Solar Grenade.

The optional perks include “Energy Projection” for increased grenade throw distance and “Impact Induction” for bonus grenade energy on melee hits. The final column optional perks offer increased reload speed between Scout Rifles and Rocket Launchers.

The 45 Intellect, 45 Discipline stat roll for the Sunbreakers is decent enough. If you don’t have a pair, this is a good pickup for Warlocks in Destiny this weekend.
