Corey Feldman Won’t Be Bullied, As ‘Take A Stand’ Proves [Video]

In spite of the backlash Corey Feldman faced, following his first performance on The Today Show, the actor turned singer is at it again, sharing a new song from his album, Angelic 2 the Core. Whether you appreciate Corey’s unique style or not, there’s no denying that his raw determination in pursuing his dream is enough to inspire even the most timid among us. To face rejection head on is one thing, but Feldman has returned to the same arena that previously shunned him in the harshest of ways, only to risk that same reaction once again. Perhaps it’s that persistence that will eventually win the world over, as Corey Feldman shows he’s gutsy enough to “Take a Stand” for himself and for his country.

Corey Feldman Returns To Today With Another Wildly Entertaining Performance

Corey Feldman, joined by his Angels, was filled with emotion, as he made his way through the live performance of “Take a Stand,” another song from his latest album, reports Rolling Stone. Feldman embraced a number of singing styles, as he made his way through the song with his unique moves. Feldman cast off his gold hood and unzipped his gold jacket as the heat of the performance grew in intensity.

Corey hopes “Take a Stand” will find a place in the hearts of Americans, especially those who take an active interest in the political and social issues currently facing our country.

“This song is for America! We’re at a time right now when the world needs to focus really on peace and love and tolerance, especially with all the bullying,” said Feldman. “So this is about the government, the race, the United States.”

Corey Feldman Apologizes For Dropping The Flag

Corey Feldman’s latest Today Show performance was received with a much more positive response, yet, as People reveals, the way in which he dropped the American Flag midway through singing “Take a Stand” created an entirely different kind of backlash. At the end of the song Today‘s host, Tamron Hall, picked up the miniature flag and handed it back to Corey, though nothing was said about the incident at the time.

In detailing an explanation and an apology, Feldman says that he and his band were excited to be returning to The Today Show and that there wasn’t much time for rehearsals. The performance was choreographed in such a way that, following Corey’s waving of the flag, he was to raise his hands up to form the peace sign, dropping whatever he held in his hands. It was only at the last moment, when Corey was searching for a patriotic symbol to include in the performance, that the idea to use the small American flag came about.

“Once I was on stage, my brain reverted to my choreography, which was to throw my hands up in the air with a peace sign. As a dancer, my instinct is to drop anything in my hands,” said Feldman. “In that live moment, it came off as wrong and for that I’m deeply sorry. It was the exact opposite of my intention.”

Following his first appearance on The Today Show, Feldman penned an essay in which he addresses the harsh criticisms he has faced over his “Go 4 It” performance. Corey reveals that he has received encouragement from Pink, Kesha, Miley Cyrus, and Paris Jackson, in spite of the hateful remarks many others have left on his social media pages. The essay goes on to detail Feldman’s hunger for his art and the ways in which he pours his soul into every song, using music as both art and personal self-expression.

“As an artist, I simply do all that I can to bring a bit of joy and entertainment for my fellow man,” Corey Feldman writes in his essay. “I’m no better than you; I’m no less of a man. But I’m a flawed, fearless artist, presenting a band. My hope is you will see me, hear and feel me, and one day understand, that underneath the art, I’m simply a man.”
