‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’ Star Karen King Wanted For Skipping Out On Maserati Car Payments, KK MIA On Social Media

Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star Karen “KK” King is reportedly facing more criminal charges after skipping payments of her 2014 Maserati. The dealership has been trying to contact the LHHA star for months to repossess the car, but the company was unable to locate her. The warrant came only months after the reality star was arrested for buying almost $5,000 worth of merchandise from Saks Fifth Avenue using a stolen credit card.

According to TMZ, it has been five months since Karen King made a payment on the Maserati she bought in 2014. Given that the dealership has tried to contact the Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star for months and had not heard from her, they were left with no choice but to file a claim in court. Last week, a judge signed a warrant for Karen’s arrest, but the police have yet to track her down.

KK has also been unusually MIA on social media for the last two weeks. If she continues to remain silent after all the controversies thrown her way, Starcasm believed that this could only mean that things are really looking bad for the LHHA star.

In May, Karen King was arrested for financial identity fraud, theft, and first degree forgery. According to Hollywood Life, Karen was accused of stealing someone’s identity to purchase nearly $5,000 worth of dresses, perfumes, shoes, and designer purses from Saks Fifth Avenue. The police speculated that the reality star may have been working in cahoots with a Saks employee, who rang up her purchase. Based on the police report obtained by the site, Karen and a store associate bought $4,946.52 worth of items, including Chanel handbags, under someone else’s name and then split the terms.

Karen, however, insisted that the whole thing was just a misunderstanding. On her official statement to VH1, the Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star explained that it made “no sense” to steal from a store where she frequently shops. KK pointed out that she’s not the type of person to “do something she’s not supposed to be doing” where she lives and lays her head.

“I’m a customer at Saks Fifth Avenue. I pull clothes from Saks Fifth Avenue for work. Why would I go to a store that I frequently shop at? It makes no f**king sense,” she wrote.

According to Starcasm, Karen King is only currently facing three criminal charges: one of identity theft, one of forgery, and one of shoplifting. The Fulton Country police, however, could file more charges given that they already had a surveillance operation set up at Saks prior to the arrest. After being charged with financial identity theft, KK could spend a maximum of 15 years in prison. Forgery, on the other hand, has a minimum of a one-year sentence, and also a maximum of a 15-year sentence. Given her reputation as a former forger and identity theft, the publication speculated that the judge could end up giving her a longer sentence.

Early this month, the Jasmine Brand reported that Karen King’s prosecutors are doing the best they can to ensure that the Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star would be given full punishment. They recently presented several documents showing that Karen has been involved in similar cases across several jurisdictions: Florida, Sacramento, Oakland, and Santa Clara, California.

“The docs point out that from 1980-2005, King has been convicted of trafficking counterfeit goods, grand theft, counterfeit money, armed robbery and burglary.”

The prosecutors are reportedly hoping to sway the jury to their favor by presenting evidence from Karen King’s previous arrests and convictions for similar crimes.
