Meghan King Edmonds On Friendship With Kelly Dodd: ‘It’s Hard To Watch Kelly’ On ‘RHOC’

Meghan King Edmonds thought it would be fun to take her Real Housewives of Orange County co-stars to Ireland, so they could learn about her heritage and drink a lot of beer. Since Meghan is pregnant, she can’t exactly drink, so she had no problem leaving the girls at the pub as she went to explore her family heritage. Meghan was shocked to learn that so much drama had gone down while she was away and when she returned to the group, Kelly Dodd claimed to be the victim, saying that the other ladies had attacked her.

According to a new Bravo report, Meghan King Edmonds is now revealing that Kelly is an interesting character because she’s very passive-aggressive. King Edmonds has been friends with Dodd for a while, but even she’s surprised at what she’s learning about her friend. Even just a few episodes in, Meghan learned that Kelly had tried to divorce her husband Michael once before, but he wouldn’t let her leave. She later explained that he had undergone a psych evaluation, which was something King Edmonds clearly didn’t know.

But Meghan King Edmonds is seeing a pattern, as she feels that Dodd is the same way with her friends as she is with her husband. Meghan explains that it’s painful to watch her friend be so passive aggressive with her husband and with her co-stars.

“It’s hard to watch Kelly be so passive aggressive with Michael. I hate it when people act like that and I feel like Michael really seems to want to please her, but can’t. She acts the same way towards the girls, too. I don’t understand why she can’t just apologize, take ownership and move on. When she says, “I’m sorry you guys are sensitive,” that’s not actually an apology. Again, it’s passive aggressive. That whole evening Kelly continued to dig herself a hole with all of the ladies,” Meghan King Edmonds revealed in her Bravo blog, hinting that everything Kelly is experiencing with the ladies is essentially her own fault.

Several things happened throughout the day that caused Dodd to start fighting with her co-stars, including comments about Jewish people, some nose-flicking action that angered the other ladies and the infamous comment about Tamra Judge’s daughter. Meghan King Edmonds only heard Kelly’s side of the story, so she had no idea what had been said about Tamra’s daughter and Heather Dubrow’s loan. And after watching Monday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County, King Edmonds had a few things to say.

“First, the Jewish stereotype was crossing a line and then saying that Heather couldn’t afford their lots so they had to get a loan? Getting a loan doesn’t exactly mean they couldn’t afford it. And then to hear the comment she made about Tamra’s daughter? Tamra looked so broken during that scene and that never should have been brought up. When Kelly came back to the room and was filling me in on everything that happened, all I was thinking was about how happy I was that I missed everything. But at the same time Kelly truly felt attacked and if perception is reality then she has and had my empathy,” Meghan King Edmonds explains in her blog, sharing that she felt bad for Kelly when she went to talk to her, because she only got one side of the story, according to Bravo.

Even though King Edmonds is friends with Kelly, she admits that some of the things that happened with her in Ireland were completely out of line. One has to wonder if Meghan would have said anything to Kelly when it happened if she was present.
