Miley Cyrus Brings ‘Weed-Smoking Hippy’ Style To ‘The Voice’ Amid Adam Levine Feud: Will She Quit?

Miley Cyrus isn’t in Hannah Montana land anymore. The “Wrecking Ball” singer is making it clear that she’s all grown-up, taking her new flower child image to The Voice as a coach along with Adam Levine, Alicia Keys, and Blake Shelton. And while some viewers enjoy it, there’s also been some backlash for Cyrus, including a petition as well as a report about the potential of her quitting the show.

Flaunting what Hollywood Life describes as Miley’s “yoga-lovin’, weed-smokin’ hippy” style and open attitude about “her marijuana use,” the singer recently dished on what it’s like to cope with the confrontations that are part of being a coach on The Voice.

“When you don’t turn the chair for somebody, it’s so confrontational, and I’m really not confrontational,” confessed Cyrus. “So then I get really embarrassed and I’ll make it my fault—like, “I don’t know! I was high! I forgot to turn my chair!'”

Miley has attracted fans of her flower child style, with some turning to Twitter to cheer for the singer.

But there are others who aren’t so fond of Miley’s ways, with a petition that has garnered 399 supporters in an attempt to get The Voice and its network NBC to “just say no” to Cyrus as a coach.

In addition, there are those who have turned to Twitter to sound off about Miley’s coaching styles.

The term “annoying” was also used by another Twitter user.

“Watching #TheVoice for the first time and oh my god #MileyCyrus is so incredibly annoying. It isn’t all about you. Sit down,” pleaded another.

But Cyrus has her fans as well.

Although all these individuals are judging Miley, Cyrus shared with Variety that she suffers when it comes to having to judge the contestants on her Voice team. And there’s a motive behind her sometimes manically bright style, because she feels it helps to ease anxiety. That doesn’t help, however, when she has to let go of contestants, which causes her to “cry all the time,” she admitted.

To help her contestants, Miley even gives them a self-help book, The Untethered Soul, along with choosing a sometimes wacky wardrobe.

“I think it makes the contestants feel safer,” explained Cyrus about her fashion preferences. “When I turn around, people laugh and feel lighthearted.”

In addition, Miley joked about her Disney Channel Hannah Montana days, recalling what happened as she grew up.

“I had a clothing line at Walmart and got kicked out, because they said you had to choose weed or Walmart…I chose weed.”

Now, at 23, Cyrus is focused on her Happy Hippie foundation, which supports at-risk LGBTQ and homeless youth. And that’s the real motivation to serve as a coach on The Voice, she revealed.

“I am only doing The Voice because that helps Happy Hippie,” explained the singer.

But while Miley has her eyes on the prize of the foundation, Adam Levine allegedly is involved in a feud with her, according to OK, which initially reported about the feud in August, citing a source who revealed the two were “viciously fighting.” And that’s making for some awkwardness when the cameras are turned off, added the insider.

“Adam and Miley are at each other’s throats this season and Adam acts like he cannot stand her.”

Moreover, the source shared that Levine does not talk to Cyrus when the cameras aren’t rolling, and behaves as if “he really wants nothing to do with her.”

In addition, Radar Online unveiled a bigger battle in September, revealing that Miley was trapped in a war involving both Adam and his buddy Blake. But don’t count her out just yet.

“Miley is saying she refuses to be beat by the old men!” a source told Radar.

While the “old men” Levine and Shelton are taking on Cyrus, she’s got a friend. The “Wrecking Ball” singer has “bonded” with Alicia Keys, and the two have spent some time together away from the heat of the set, added the insider.

Despite having a pal in her corner, Cyrus is at the point of trying not to quit because of the feud, according to OK. “In tears” due to Adam picking on her, Miley also is involved in constant bickering with Levine, a source told OK.

“Adam and Miley were non-stop bickering during their last taping together,” shared the insider.

“[Levine] nitpicks almost every single thing she says.”

The result of that nit-picking? Cyrus has threatened to exit The Voice, considering quitting after the situation became “so bad,” added the source.
