‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 7 Update: Fan Theory Melts The Iron Throne — Literally

Game of Thrones Season 7 is a little less than a year to go, and fans are getting antsy about what could be in store the final two seasons of HBO’s most successful TV series.

With that in mind, it goes without saying that the fans of the show are becoming more creative now that they are deprived of their favorite hobby for a year, resulting to unbelievably plausible theories about what is next for Game of Thrones.

One fan theory is particularly plausible considering all that happened in Season 6 with the White Walkers closing in on the Southerners, Jon Snow leading the North, and Daenerys Targaryen gearing up for war against whoever is seated on the Iron Throne who happens to be Cersei Lannister.

Fan Theory Brings The Iron Throne On Literal Meltdown

Jack Gleeson, the actor who played the hated Joffrey Baratheon in the Game of Thrones, revealed some interesting fan theory about what could happen in the incoming season of the award-winning HBO TV series.

Speaking during the New York Comic Con at the Madison Square Garden, Gleeson shared to the audience a possible plot twist from a fan which he deemed highly plausible.

“This isn’t a spoiler, because I know zero about the show and I literally know nothing about what will happen,” Gleeson began saying.

“[A fan] came up with this theory that they told me — someone’s going to melt down the Iron Throne because it has the Valyrian steel that will overcome the White Walkers. I think that’s kind of a cool idea — the monarchy is literally dissolved.”

When you come to think of it, there is a huge possibility that this could happen during the Season 7 finale when the White Walkers finally overcome the Wall to conquer Westeros.

Of course, it is just a theory as Gleeson explained how he lacked knowledge on what has been happening in the show.

“There’s too much to catch up on. I haven’t a clue what’s going on there.”

“It’s crazy. In my mind, all these characters are still alive, and everyone’s in this place, and those people are in that place, and they have these motivations — and now everything has been screwed around so much. It’s a completely different show,” he adds.

As far as we know, the cast and crew of Game of Thrones are still in the middle of shooting Season 7 with latest reports from Watchers On The Wall putting them in Northern Ireland.

Game of Thrones Production Update

In a post published on October 10, WOTW confirmed that the show’s stars including Kit Harington, Sophie Turner, and Maisie Williams have already started filming in Northern Ireland, specifically in Stranocum per local source the Irish Thrones.

According to WOTW, Stranocum is the home of the Dark Hedges which have become a popular tourist spot.

Previous seasons of Game of Thrones made use of the place as the hedges in the outskirts of King’s Landing. Now, Game of Thrones is using it again for who knows what, which means it is time to speculate.

Remember Gendry, Robert Baratheon’s bastard who was supposed to be sacrificed to the Lord of The Light but escaped with the help of Ser Davos? WOTW has reason to believe that he might be the one hiding in the hedges.

Of course, that is just speculation as Joe Dempsie is still nowhere near the set where the main cast such as Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), and Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) are spotted.

Game of Thrones returns to HBO in Summer 2017.
