Cyclops Kitten Captures The Attention Of The Internet [Video]

Cleyed The Cyclops Kitten

Video of Cleyed the Cyclops kitten has captured the animal-loving attention of the internet, according to The Huffington Post. Sadly, the poor little one-eyed creature didn’t live a very long life, dying shortly after it was born. However, its owner managed to capture the kitten’s existence on video, which was eventually uploaded to YouTube.

“All of us in the operating room experienced a VERY RARE once in a lifetime (hopefully) kitten births,” the video’s description reads. “To start off, both horns of the uterus were twisted together THREE times. After untwisting the horns our veterinarian started the surgery and she removed the first baby, the baby was handed to me and I started drying her off.”

Footage of the one-eyed cat has enjoyed quite a few hits since its debut on the website, generating nearly 50,000 views in just a few days. Although the video of the cyclops kitten is sad on its own, the clip is accompanied by Sarah McLachlan’s “Angel,” a song that will break the heart of even the coldest human being when combined with footage of sad animals.

“What a beautiful little soul, had he made it to live I know many people would have wanted to adopt and care for him, me being one of them. Such a very, very rare thing to happen, I have never heard of it before. How unique and special is he! To me he was a beautiful little boy and so very rare and dear. Rest in Peace over the Rainbow Bridge where how you look does not matter,” one YouTube user wrote.

Although one-eyed kittens aren’t an uncommon occurrence — Una is a perfect example of one such cat that’s survived with just one eye — the cyclops kitten featured in the embedded video has one lone eye right in the middle of its tiny face. Unfortunately, for those who would love to welcome such a creature into their homes, Cleyed the Cyclops kitten has already passed away.

Would you adopt a cyclops kitten?
