Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Divorce Update: FBI Is Still Investigating Child Abuse Claims, They Remain Estranged

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce battle is raging on, and as the couple remains estranged, a report has confirmed that the FBI investigation into claims of child abuse against Pitt is ongoing.

Although there have been reports claiming the FBI is no longer investigating the 52-year-old actor, a new report has revealed that Pitt’s case remains open.

On October 10, Entertainment Tonight revealed that a federal criminal investigation was open but said the FBI hadn’t yet interviewed members of the family who were present during a September 14 plane incident, in which Pitt was accused of getting physical with 15-year-old Maddox. In a statement to the outlet, the FBI said it was “continuing to gather facts and will evaluate whether an investigation at the federal level will be pursued.”

As the investigation against Pitt continues, he and Angelina Jolie have reportedly remained estranged, and due to a “child safety plan” being in place, Entertainment Tonight claimed it was “unlikely” that Pitt and Angelina Jolie have spoken to one another directly. Instead, suggested the outlet, they have possibly communicated with one another through their attorneys.

As for Pitt’s interaction with his kids, who have been living with their mother ever since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce on September 19, it is unclear if he has seen the children at all, despite a recent report claiming he saw them last week. In fact, it isn’t clear if he will see his kids anytime soon because of the ongoing investigation.

After Pitt and his wife, Angelina Jolie, agreed to a temporary agreement for the custody of their children in September, which will continue until October 20, they began attending individual counseling, and Pitt also agreed to undergo drug and alcohol testing.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie separated on September 15, one day after he was accused of getting physical with Maddox, and in the weeks since, the former pair has been keeping their distance as Pitt remains in the Hollywood Hills at their previous family home. Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie and her kids moved to Malibu, California, last month before relocating to a rental in Hidden Hills, which is closer to Pitt’s home.

As he remains estranged from Angelina Jolie, and possibly his kids as well, Pitt is reportedly doing what he can to keep himself busy as he prepares to fight for joint custody of Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 8.

“Brad has been throwing himself in his work to help keep his mind off his painful family situation. On top of getting love and support from his closest Hollywood pals, Brad has been reading scripts, and taking work meetings to help get his mind of his personal life problems,” a source told Hollywood Life last week.

“When he is not meeting with lawyers about his divorce from [Angelina Jolie], Brad has been focusing on film producing and his career which help keep his mind off the challenges he has with his family situation,” the insider continued.

“As difficult as it is to do work for him right now, getting some positive stuff done is easier for him than sitting around worrying about Angie and the kids. He is really bummed right now and work has been keeping him occupied.”

Both Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have taken a step back from the public since parting ways and have not been seen at all in Los Angeles.
