Congratulations are reportedly in order for Guy Ritchie and his longtime girlfriend Jacqui Ainsley.
In addition to expecting a new baby, the 44-year-old Sherlock Holmes director and his 30-year-old partner are now apparently planning to exchange wedding vows after getting engaged recently.
“They’re over the moon in love,” a friend told People magazine of the couple.
Ritchie’s representative confirmed news of the engagement to the publication as well.
According to People, Guy and Jacqui have been dating since April 2010 and welcomed their first baby – a boy named Rafael – on September 5 of last year.
In July, Ainsley revealed she and Ritchie were expecting their second child together by proudly flaunting her baby bump on the red carpet of The Dark Knight Rises premiere in London. Baby number two is reportedly due in just six short weeks.
Prior to his relationship with Ainsley, Guy Ritchie was famously married to pop singer Madonna. During their eight-year stint together, the couple had two kids: biological son Rocco, 12, and adopted son David, 7, before calling it quits in 2008.
Speaking of his marriage to Madonna, Ritchie previously told Details magazine:
“I enjoyed my first marriage. It’s definitely not something I regret. The experience was ultimately very positive, I love the kids that came out of it, and I could see no other route to take.”
“But you move on, don’t you?” he added. “You’re right, I stepped into a soap opera, and I lived in it for quite a long period of my life. I’ll probably be more eloquent on it 10 years from now.”
