Glenn Beck’s SUV Totaled In Accident After His Daughter’s Wedding
Glenn Beck was hugging his daughter after her wedding when he heard his wife yell for help, as their SUV began to slide down a hill in Finger Lakes, New York. The political commentator’s wife had just gotten their son out of the SUV, and was still holding onto the door handle, when the vehicle started to slide down a slippery hill and barrel-rolled several times. Beck yelled to his wife to “let it go” since nothing could be done to prevent the impending crash and his sole concern was the safety of his wife and son; there were no other people or vehicles in the path of Beck’s sliding SUV.
After the SUV slid down the hit and crashed, the fiscally conservative news personality simply encouraged his family to go on inside their rented cottage, say their prayers, and go to sleep after a day which was both wonderfully and woefully emotional. A member of Glenn Beck’s security detail ran to the vehicle as it started to slide, fearing the little boy was still inside, the man fortunately escaped from the path of the sliding SUV just before it began to tumble, according to The Blaze.
Glenn had this to say when sharing the story with his radio co-hosts Pat and Stu:
“Right after my daughter’s wedding it was, have you ever had one of those days? Imagine having one of these days where the stress is just going, and this could be a TV commercial. This is Father of the Bride. This is like the end of Father of the Bride. We rented this little cottage there on the lake and just parked this SUV on the hill. Well, it had been raining. I didn’t live in California, who knew about mudslides? So opening up the door, and I see my wife, who’s gotten my son out of the car. I’m there with my daughter holding her in my arms because it’s after the wedding. I open the door, and my wife says, ‘Help, Help!’ I see my wife dressed in her evening gown from the wedding, and she’s holding onto he door handle of the car as the car is starting to slide down the hill.”
In the morning when the Beck family inspected the SUV they discovered all of the windows were broken out and the axle was bent, Raw Story notes.
