BTS K-Pop Comeback: ‘Blood, Sweat & Tears’ By Bangtan Boys Achieves All-Kill On Korean Charts In One Hour [Music Video]

Two months ago, BTS and Big Hit Entertainment made it known they would be making their K-pop comeback sometime this Autumn. Many K-pop fans, especially those who were part of the A.R.M.Y. (official fan club of BTS), were psyched anticipating when Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Rap Monster, Jimin, V, and Jungkook would make their return with their second studio album, WINGS.

To help capitalize on said anticipation, BTS and Big Hit Entertainment systematically released numerous teasers for WINGS, starting with images of paired members. This was followed up with group images and individual trailers showcasing that each member will have their own solo songs on the album too. Apparently, all the hype and anticipation worked in their favor, as BTS reportedly sold 500,000 copies of WINGS within the first week it was available to pre-order.

Now the wait is officially over, as BTS and Big Hit Entertainment have finally released WINGS, and they are dominating. Its featured song, which BTS calls their first official fan song, “Blood, Sweat & Tears,” is doing so well that has already achieved an “All-Kill” in the Korean chart.

News for “Blood, Sweat & Tears” earning the top spot on Korean music charts was first reported by Korean news outlet SportsQ through a translation provided by Soompi. Reportedly by 1 a.m. KST on Monday, October 10, the song achieved first place on all eight local music charts: Melon, Mnet, Bugs, olleh, Soribada, Genie, Naver Music, and Monkey3. Not only that, all 15 songs from WINGS have taken the top 15 spots for half of the local music charts: Melon, Genie, Mnet, and Naver Music.

It must be noted that it is very rare for any K-pop act to achieve an “All-Kill” within the first hour of its release. The only other group to achieve such a monumental accomplishment this year was BTS’ biggest rivals, EXO, and they probably did it twice. According to AllKpop back in June, the SM Entertainment boy group earned an “All-Kill” with their title song “Monster” as soon as it was released. Two months later, EXO achieved another “All-Kill” with “LOTTO” but this time, records do show it was done in less than an hour of its release.

Nevertheless, BTS achieving an “All-Kill” for “Blood, Sweat & Tears” in less than hour is still a noteworthy accomplishment. It is also possible that we might know what the second song to achieve an “All-Kill” might be because it is recognized as BTS’ first official fan song.

Rap Monster made it known which song out of the 15 listed on WINGS was their first official fan song while promoting during a live stream on the Naver App. According to Rap Monster, the song “Two! Three! (But Hoping More Good Days)” was BTS’ first official fan song. This means it was made with the fans in mind, as if they are thanking or honoring them through music. Along with that, BTS also discussed the other songs on the album including the solo songs. Add in the K-pop idol hijinks they did such as playing games and fooling around, and it is understandable why by the end of their live stream, three million people were viewing.

For K-pop fans who want to own their copy of WINGS, they can purchase it at YesAsia. The random version is just the album, while the special edition version (known as the W+I+N+G Version) consists of four discs. There is also an option to buy either version along with a poster in a tube.
