Brad Pitt Blames Himself For Angelina Jolie Divorce, Kids Want Them Back Together?

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are parting ways after 12 years together and according to a new report, the 52-year-old actor is blaming himself for the end of their marriage.

Although the couple has remained fairly silent in regard to their split, a report on October 6 suggested that Pitt was taking the blame for Angelina Jolie’s September 19 divorce filing and the messy custody battle that has followed.

“Brad is deeply depressed and regretful for anything he may have done that caused this divorce and his separation from his children, whom he loves with all his heart,” Kris Herzog, a former security consultant for the family, told Hollywood Life.

“Brad will be attending group counseling sessions with [Angelina Jolie] and the entire family,” Herzog continued. “Both Brad and Angelina love their children one million percent and would do anything for their happiness and safety. The family will all be working together as a group to make the divorce as painless as possible of a transition period.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie fell in love during production on Mr. & Mrs. Smith when Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston. At the time, the relationship was quite controversial, especially due to the fact that Angelina Jolie was previously accused of stealing Billy Bob Thorn from Laura Dern years prior. Still, that didn’t stop the couple from beginning to flaunt their relationship publicly just weeks after Aniston filed for divorce. Then, about one year after Aniston’s filing, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie welcomed their first child together, daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, now 10.

Since then, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have welcomed two more children biologically, 8-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. They’ve also become the adoptive parents of three children, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, and Zahara, whom they adopted from Cambodia, Vietnam and Ethiopia, respectively.

As for how the kids are handling the split, a source claimed earlier this week that they were hoping that their parents would ultimately get back together.

“The kids are devastated and confused about why their parents are suddenly apart,” a source explained to Hollywood Life. “They are all nagging [Angelina Jolie] to get back together with [Brad Pitt] and have everything be back to normal.”

Angelina Jolie relocated to Malibu, California, with her kids immediately after parting ways with Pitt and a short time later, she rented a home in Hidden Hills, California, where she and the children are believed to be staying as Pitt remains in their Hollywood Hills residence.

While the kids didn’t see their father for some time after Angelina Jolie left home, People Magazine confirmed days ago that Pitt was recently able to see the children for the first time since the end of his marriage.

“Brad has spent some wonderful time with children recently,” a source close the situation told the magazine.

According to the report, the L.A. Department of Children and Family Services currently has an investigation open against Pitt due to abuse allegations in regard to a past incident involving the actor and Maddox and recommended a temporary plan to him and Angelina Jolie for the custody of their kids. That agreement requires a therapist to be present during Pitt’s time with his kids and will expire on October 20. Pitt is also required to submit drug and alcohol tests.

“Brad loves his children more than anything in this world, and they matter more than anything else to him,” said another source. “He will do whatever it takes to be with them, now and always.”
