Robert Pattinson And FKA Twigs Headed For Split? Troubled Couple Caught In A Heated Exchange At LAX

Robert Pattinson’s engagement to FKA Twigs might be headed for an end. The former Twilight star was spotted in a heated argument with Twigs at an airport this week. Was their public outburst a sign of deeper troubles?

Hollywood Life reports that Pattinson and Twigs were spotting fighting at LAX. The couple seemed visibly upset as they made their way out of California.

Twigs wore dark attire for the outing and covered her eyes with sunglasses while Pattinson wore a baseball hat and a green jacket. Strangely, security at the airport asked the couple to take off their outer clothing for a quick security check.

Despite being well-known celebrities, Pattinson and Twigs had to take off their shoes and coats and get searched just like any normal passenger.

At the same time, it isn’t known why the couple was arguing, though, according to iTech Post, the fight may have been related to Pattinson’s ex-girlfriend, Kristen Stewart. Pattinson and Stewart’s long history together was thrust back into the limelight recently when rumors of a new Twilight movie started to emerge. The rumors indicate that Pattinson is seriously considering working on more Twilight movies with Stewart in the near future.

“She doesn’t feel threatened by Kristen [and] will, of course, support his decision,” the source explained. “As far as Twilight is concerned, if this is something Rob really has his heart set on, she will, of course, support his decision.”

Patrick Wachsberger, a Lionsgate chairman, started the rumors of a Twilight sequel when he discussed the possibility of Edward and Bella reuniting on the big screen. Nothing official has been announced, though Wachsberger admitted that another Twilight film depends on Stephenie Meyer.

“It’s a possibility. Not a certainty but it’s a possibility. It’s about Stephenie. If she wants to tell a story related to those characters we’re here for her,” he stated.

For now, there’s no telling what will become of the franchise and whether or not Robert Pattinson is willing to reprise his role in a future film. After all, the actor has tried hard to separate himself from the role in recent years, making it doubtful that he would return to it. Considering the overwhelming success of the series, however, it’s entirely possible that Meyer will write more novels in the Twilight universe.

Meanwhile, in regards to Pattinson’s engagement, Twigs was not wearing her engagement ring during their trip. Did they call off the engagement?

Coupled with a lack of affection and Twigs’ absent ring, it looks like Pattinson and Twigs have seen better days in their relationship. Of course, the two have always been very secretive about showing affection in public, so their latest outing might not mean anything significant. However, if Pattinson decides to star in another Twilight movie with Stewart, then his relationship with Twigs could go downhill very fast.

While fans wait to hear more news about future Twilight movies, Lainey Gossip is reporting that Pattinson’s recent trip with Twigs was their first public appearance for quite some time. The two have kept out of the spotlight for the past couple of months, largely thanks to the living in London instead of L.A.

With their relationship in question, fans are left wondering what will become of Pattinson’s career in the movie industry. Ever since his days in the Twilight series, Pattinson has failed to land roles in major movies. Instead, he has elected to star in a number of different indie films as he tries to distance himself from Twilight. More recently, Pattinson landed a part in The Lost City of Z, where he will appear opposite of Sons of Anarchy alum Charlie Hunnam.
