Kristen Stewart Thinks People Are Overreacting When It Comes To Nude Scenes

Kristen Stewart isn’t someone who shies away from scenes requiring her to disrobe. While Tinseltown’s celebrities have different perspectives when it comes to nudity, Kristen feels that people shouldn’t make a fuss out of it.

In an interview with W magazine, Kristen talked about her experience in the upcoming movie Personal Shopper. She explained that one of the reasons why she went nude was the opportunity to work with director Olivier Assayas. She claimed that she doesn’t feel “weird” about nude scenes.

“I still want women’s bodies and the way they want to reveal them, it should be a precious thing, I don’t want to de-sexualize it in some way. But at the same time, I’m not weird about it. I’m pretty open. I think people are a little too f***ing weird about it, to be honest, but that’s kind of why I was like, ‘I’ll do it.'”

Nevertheless, it does not mean that Kristen will take off her clothes for any project that comes her way. For her, context is still significant and it must be clear that the nude scene will have an impact to the movie’s narrative.

In the movie Personal Shopper, Kristen plays the role of Maureen. Maureen had to deal with shame and guilt, and to make these emotions come out, she had to be seen “stripped and bare, totally bare.”

“There’s a strength in it. There’s an aspect of sexuality in the movie that’s so lonely and that is just one of the saddest things. She’s not with anyone. Like the sex scene? Totally alone. She’s interacting with a fake person on a phone. And there’s just something so f***ing raw about it, and without that stuff it would be a different thing.”

It wasn’t the first time for Kristen to be naked. She had similar scenes in Walter Salles’ On the Road. These scenes are apparently far cries from the role which launched her into the limelight – Isabella Swan.

Recently, stories have emerged that a new Twilight movie might be in the works after a Lionsgate executive has expressed interest. According to co-chairman Patrick Wachsberger, they will support author Stephenie Meyer if she feels there’s still a story to tell.

Even lead actor Robert Pattinson is allegedly eager to reprise his role as vampire Edward Cullen thinking that a new Twilight project will “reignite” his career. The Water for Elephants actor is engaged to FKA Twigs, and despite their relationship, she doesn’t despise her fiancé’s ex-girlfriend, because she allegedly knows how serious things are between Kristen and Alicia Cargile.

If the new project comes into fruition, Rob’s fiancée will reportedly give her all-out support because she is aware of how close the franchise is to the British actor’s heart. However, it is believed that Kristen does not fancy the idea, for she thinks she’s now too mature to return.

Kristen might not want to work with Rob again especially after labeling their romance as a “product.” She told T magazine that the romance was ruined because fans were too adamant to make Bella and Edward a reality.

“People wanted me and Rob to be together so badly that our relationship was made into a product. It wasn’t real life anymore. And that was gross to me. It’s not that I want to hide who I am or hide anything I’m doing in my life. It’s that I don’t want to become a part of a story for entertainment value.”

In the same interview, Kristen also recalled that her Twilight years were the most terrifying years of her life because she had to deal with anxiety.
