Huge ‘Young And The Restless’ Shocker: Steve Burton Reveals He Is Leaving
Shocking news came out today about The Young and the Restless that fans were not expecting to hear. It turns out that Steve Burton is leaving the show. Fans followed him from General Hospital to The Young and the Restless. This comes as quite the shock to everyone considering it is right after Justin Hartley left the soap to focus on This Is Us. Michael Fairman Soaps shared the news about Steve Burton’s big exit and what is going on. What could this mean for the soap opera?
Steve Burton will be finishing up his contract and then leaving the show. Burton made the decision not to renew his contract and stick around. The news came out tonight as he went to Twitter to share what was going on.
“Hey everyone, with lots of reflection, I have decided to move on from @YandR_CBS at the end of my contract in Dec. I’ve had an amazing time, but it feels right to move on to new adventures in my life. I can’t say enough about the AWESOME cast and crew. Much respect! Much luv to @CBSDaytime for the great ride. Somehow, Burton was able to keep it a secret until the post he made himself on Twitter tonight.

Fans are shocked to hear this news and are really going to miss Steve Burton on the show. When Justin left, it was kind of expected, but this one comes as a shock to viewers. Back in 2012, Steve Burton left General Hospital so that he could move to something else. Steve had been playing the role of Jason Morgan for 22 years before making the choice to move on. He wasn’t at Y&R near as long in this role.
Burton used to work with executive producer Jill Farren Phelps at General Hospital and then he was by her side again at The Young and the Restless. She has moved on as well, though and was already replaced. The thing is nobody really knows why Steve Burton left the show or what he has plans to do now. Burton has been playing the role of Dylan McAvoy, and everyone is curious if he will be replaced in this role or if Dylan will be killed off the show. The viewers can’t wait to see how it all plays out, but it will be a few months before they get the chance to watch it all go down.

It will take a bit for them to air all of the episodes that he is in. This also gives the show time to tie up his story and decide what they want to do with Dylan. This is going to come as a shock, and they will have to decide what is best to do with him. When Steve left General Hospital, everyone thought it would be the end of Jason Morgan, but that wasn’t the case. Now he is back, and someone else is doing a great job with the character that Steve made the fans fall in love with for all of those years.
