Memphis, TN – “Shake and Bake”-style meth-making devices were found in a man’s truck (which read “meth lab” in white letters across the back window) after he was pulled over by police on Friday.

In the wee hours of the morning last Friday (around 3am to be exact), Memphis police doing a routine traffic stop halted a two door Ford truck for a road violation and found a lot more than they bargained for, in spite of the truth being plainly visible to any and all following the suspect. The Ford had the words “METH LAB” written in white marker prominently across the back window, but the driver was stopped for a simple road violation, reports MSN.

He was driving with antique issued license plates, which only allow a vehicle’s operator to drive on the weekends and on special occasions, reports WMCTV. After stopping the vehicle, police discovered that the 43-year-old driver was driving on a suspended license and that he was on probation for the manufacture of meth.

As it turns out, the man’s rear-window meth lab banner was quite honest and literal, as police discovered a “Shake N Bake” plastic bottle commonly used in mobile meth labs during a primary search of the vehicle.

Of course, the suspect was immediately arrested and waited out a more rigorous search of his truck from the back of a squad car. Officers discovered a second “Shake N Bake” device as well as other ingredients for meth inside the cab.

The suspect will be charged with driving on a suspended license and other traffic violations. However, he probably could have avoided his pending manufacturing of meth charges if he had taken the time to clear out his truck — or at least prudently decided not to advertise his illicit activities to the public.

What do you think of the meth lab operator who wrote “meth lab” on the back of his truck? Dumbest criminal of the year? Sound off!
