Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Divorce Settlement And Net Worth Details

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have a combined net worth of an estimated $400 million. So, when it comes to their ongoing divorce, things could get fairly messy.

In addition to their custody dispute over their six children, Brad Pitt and his wife have been faced with the task of dividing their net worth, which includes several homes in Los Angeles, New Orleans, and France.

On October 2, TMZ shared details regarding the couple’s divorce, claiming that negotiations for a settlement are underway.

“Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been in the throes of settlement negotiations almost from the start… but it got rocky early on when Brad pulled the plug,” the outlet explained to readers.

According to the report, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wanted to take a quick break from their marriage and avoid what could easily become a contentious divorce over their net worth. However, after Jolie asked for sole physical custody of their kids and potentially allowed a story about Brad Pitt’s alleged attack on their child to be leaked, Pitt ended the negotiations. A short time later, their talks resumed.

As Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie work out a permanent arrangement for the custody and visitation of their children, as well as temporary support for Jolie and the kids, they reportedly remain at odds over their net worth, including their future plan for financial support and the splitting of their properties.

“The L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services is investigating the jet incident, and any settlement must conform to the eventual DCFS recommendations,” the outlet explained.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie separated on September 15, just one day after Pitt was accused of getting physical with Maddox, 15, on their private jet, which was en route to Los Angeles from France. Then, on September 19, she officially filed documents to end their marriage after just two years.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s love story began during filming on 2005’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith. At the time, Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston and because Jolie had also struck up a romance with Billy Bob Thornton when he was engaged in a relationship with Laura Dern, she was immediately labeled a home wrecker.

Although affair reports were shut down by some, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie ultimately confirmed their romance just weeks after Aniston filed for divorce and in 2006, their first biological child, daughter Shiloh, now 10, was born. In the years since, Pitt and Jolie have also welcomed twins Vivienne and Knox, now eight, and adopted three children, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, and Zahara, 11.

On October 4, the Christian Post posed the question of who would be richer after their split, Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie, and revealed that the couple had generated $117.5 million since they tied the knot. The outlet also listed Brad Pitt’s net worth at $240 million and said Jolie was worth $160 million.

Although Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie signed a prenuptial agreement prior to their wedding, they may still have a lot to discuss, especially when it comes to their homes. However, due to laws in California, Brad Pitt is expected to keep the majority of his and Jolie’s net worth.

“Because of the prenuptial agreement, the bulk of Brangelina’s wealth will go back to Pitt after the divorce proceedings,” the Christian Post explained. “The California community property laws state that assets earned prior to the wedding stay with the person who acquired them.”
