Emma Watson Uses Twitter To Promote Films, Education, And Feminism: ‘Harry Potter’ Star Debuts Belle Of This Day And Age In ‘Beauty And The Beast’

However, the Harry Potter star is doubling her efforts despite her critics, showing the world that she can do films, promote education and feminism all at the same time. She definitely is the Belle people need in this day and age!

Recently, the Beauty and the Beast star spoke with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to talk about feminism and drew another criticism from the public. Instead of sitting back and passively taking in the criticism, she spoke out about her experience of headlining the HeForShe Twitter campaign she started a year ago through UN Women.

“My best hopes and my worst fears were confirmed all at once,” Emma said according to Independent. “I had opened a Pandora’s Box to a standing ovation and almost simultaneously to a level of critique I had never experienced in my life and the beginning of a series of threats.”

“The last two years have been a baptism of fire to say the least,” she continued. “I learned just how little I know and also how much. It was my scary first step as an activist, a word I never imagined I would use to describe myself.”

She actually took a year off from making films to spend more time doing things she thought were important.

“I’m taking a year away from acting to focus on two things, really,” Emma said according to Entertainment Weekly. “My own personal development is one. I know that you read a book a day. My own personal task is to read a book a week, and also to read a book a month as part of my book club. I’m doing a huge amount of reading and study just on my own.”

And one of them turned out to be her Twitter feminism campaign. Through HeForShe, she attempted to heighten the level of education that people all over the world receive on gender equality.

Her work on feminism doesn’t end there. Most recently, the Harry Potter actress took boxing classes from “Lina Khalifeh who established SheFighter, a self-defense studio designed to empower women in Jordan,” according to the Telegraph. Looks like she is ready to take her own safety into her own hands.

That doesn’t mean that the 26-year-old actress is now forgotten by Hollywood. Her new movie, Beauty and the Beast, is coming out in 2017 and little by little, new photos of Belle are getting released.

“Emma Watson is guaranteed to put the beauty in Disney’s new highly-anticipated live-action flick Beauty and the Beast,” reports Romper. “We’ve already been teased with the trailer, and now thankfully, there’s “something there that wasn’t there before: as fans are finally getting the first photos of Emma Watson as Belle in Beauty and the Beast.”

Check out Belle like you have never seen before!

Despite her hectic schedule, she is trying to make time for her friends all over the world. The last time that Beauty and the Beast actress was seen socializing was about a month ago in Berlin.

“[D]espite living on separate sides of the world, Emma Watson and Daniel Bruehl managed to reunite in Berlin on Friday,” reports the Daily Mail. “With Daniel’s girlfriend pregnant with their first child, the pair seemed to be celebrating the good news with a toast, as they nursed glasses of white wine over the bar.”
