Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson ‘Twilight’ Reboot Canceled, Confirms Stephenie Meyer

Twilight movie fans were very excited when they got to know that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson may feature in a new Twilight-related movie. However, novelist Stephenie Meyer confirmed that she is “over” writing about Twilight and its characters.

During her earlier interview with Variety, Meyer stated that she will stay away from future installments in the series of romance novels that were adapted into the blockbuster film saga. Meyer added that in future, she would only consider returning to the world of the human-vampire romantic saga only when Edward Cullen (played by Pattinson in the film), Jacob Black (played by Taylor Lautner) and Bella Swan Cullen (played by Stewart) will die.

“Three paragraphs on my blog saying which of the characters died.” She then added, “I’m interested in spending time in other worlds, like Middle-earth.”

“I get further away [from Twilight] every day,” said Meyer. “For me, it’s not a happy place to be.”

Earlier in September, Patrick Wachsberger, co-chairman of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group talked about the Twilight film future during his interview with Screen Daily. Wachsberger stated that there is indeed a possibility of a new Twilight-related film but there is a catch.

“It’s about Stephenie [novelist Stephenie Meyer]. If she wants to tell a story related to those characters we’re here for her.”

So, based on Meyer’s earlier interview with Variety, it looks like there won’t be any new Twilight-kind of a movie, featuring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

Apart from millions of fans, a source close to Pattinson revealed to Hollywood Life that the star does want to return to the same films again. According to an unknown insider, Pattinson has a failed career after they were done making Twilight movies, and a reunion with Stewart would boost his career.

“[Robert Pattinson] is more likely to come back if they make more Twilight films because he thinks it would re-spark his career, where Kristen [Stewart] wants to stay away from the franchise because she thinks of it as high school and she feels that she has graduated onto other opportunities that are more her right now. But if they pull up the Brinks truck to both of them they would highly consider it, because especially in Hollywood, money talks.”

Earlier to Hollywood Life’s claim, there were reports that both Kristen and Robert desperately want a reunion as that’s an only chance to save their acting career.

“Both have had little to no career success since they split. Now agents for both of them are looking for a project for them to star in together.”

Gossip Cop debunked these claims, so it looks like Hollywood Life’s claims are also just speculations.

Just like Pattinson, even Stewart had no problem in reuniting with Pattinson in any supernatural film. During her interview with Uproxx, Alicia Cargile’s girlfriend gave her perspective on Twilight’s future.

“I was so genuinely, heavily entrenched in that, and not in a way that felt like an obligation. Even though after the first one, which stood alone, it lasted a long time. It’s hard to speak to a five-year period in a few sentences, but I loved doing it. But that doesn’t mean I want to keep doing it. But if other people wanted to? Yeah, sure. To be honest with you, I would be interested. I’d be kind of fascinated, but it wouldn’t emotionally affect me one way or the other.”
