Out of all the spoilers that have been released during the past several months, Caroline (Candice King) and Alaric (Matt Davis) have not been mentioned very often. Even though Caroline and Alaric are no longer a couple, they will always be linked and will forever be a family. This is because the two have twin daughters. Sneak peek photos of The Vampire Diaries Season 8, Episode 1 show the parents having a conversation. Based on how Alaric is positioning his hands, it seems that he is trying to explain something to her. Caroline’s face cannot be seen, but her body language screams tension.

The Futon Critic published the synopsis for the premiere episode, titled “Hello Brother.” A clue in the TVD episode description may explain what Caroline and Alaric are discussing. The website stated that Caroline will have a “dangerous encounter with an unexpected visitor.” It makes the mother worry that her family is being targeted and they might all be in danger.

The synopsis also teased that Stefan will be determined to find his older brother, Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder). However, he is unprepared for what he finds. It turns out that the mystery creature has a firm grip on Damon and it is much stronger than Stefan thought. Even though it would be easy to give up and consider Damon lost, it was hinted that the entire season is focused on trying to save Damon and Enzo (Michael Malarkey) in The Vampire Diaries. The word “cure” was also thrown in there, so that might be another clue.

As previously speculated by the Inquisitr, the character description for Sybil sounds a lot like the mystery monster. TV Guide wrote that the female entity will have an interest in Stefan Salvatore. She is used to getting what she wants and will do what is necessary to get it. This made some “Steroline” fans worry about Stefan and Caroline.

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 premiere synopsis from The Futon Critic also states that Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham) begins to lose hope. She lost Damon and Enzo, the two most important men in her life. Months have passed and they still have not been found. Bonnie also lost her magic, so she was delivered a triple whammy. Even though she is one of the strongest and most determined characters on TVD, everyone has their breaking point. Let’s hope that she can hold on until Damon and Enzo are found. Once that happens, they will need her strength to find out how to free the vampires.

“The beginning of the end — Months after Damon and Enzo mysteriously vanished from the Armory vault, Stefan tirelessly pushes forward with their search, while Bonnie struggles holding onto hope that they will be found. Meanwhile, a dangerous encounter with an unexpected visitor leaves Caroline and Alaric fearing that someone — or something — may be targeting their family. Finally, after following some mysterious clues, Stefan realizes that whatever has a hold of his brother may have a more damaging grip over him than he could have ever imagined.”

Can Damon and Enzo be saved? Who or what is targeting Caroline and Alaric’s family? What will happen with the rest of the characters when The Vampire Diaries returns to The CW network on October 21?
