Blake Lively Welcomes Second Baby With Ryan Reynolds: ‘We’re Officially Breeders’

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are perfect for each other in many ways, including the fact that they each come from big families. Blake revealed that she has four siblings, while husband Reynolds is just one of four. It seems the couple is hoping to keep the tradition going, because Lively and Ryan just welcomed their second child, adding to a growing family. The pair opened up about becoming parents once again, expounding on the joys and the lessons that becoming parents has brought into their lives.

Blake Lively Glows With Pride, As She Welcomes A New Baby

In covering the birth of the new baby for Reynolds and Lively, People shared a portion of Blake’s June interview on The Today Show, proving the new mother is feeling bright and blessed, following the new birth. Sharing the history of big families from which they both come, Blake shared her charming and humorous outlook on parenting.

“I’m one of five kids. My husband is one of four, so we’re officially breeders,” Lively joked on Today. “You can go on our website and we will give you some of our children.”

Lively and Reynolds share little about daughter James, aside from the occasional Instagram post, because the pair agree that it’s important to keep their children away from the spotlight. Previously, Blake has expressed a strong desire to see her children live a “nice, normal upbringing,” without the pressures of the Hollywood lifestyle. For that reason, fans shouldn’t expect many details about the birth of this latest baby for some time.

“We don’t ever want to rob them of what we had because then we’d feel really selfish,” Blake added, referring to the more mainstream childhood shared by Reynolds and herself. “All my eggs are in one basket, and that’s my family.”

It’s still early to coax statements about the new baby from Blake and Ryan, as they are surely taking the time to get to know their new baby away from curious fans and media professionals. In place of anything new from the couple, E! News reported on some past interviews to create a picture of Lively and Reynolds as parents of James Reynolds, who is now one-and-a-half-years-old.

For Blake, she feels that parenting and creating a family has given her something to keep her grounded, apart from the sometime chaotic Hollywood lifestyle that goes along with being a successful actress. Lively says that having a family to come home to has helped to keep things in perspective.

Apparently, husband Ryan Reynolds agrees, as he confesses to doting on little James more than he probably should, even at her young age.

“I truly worship [James],” Reynolds says. “It’s terrible. She has me so far wrapped around her finger it’s dumb. She says ‘dada’ and I will walk through a cement wall to get to her.”

Blake says she has found her calling as a parent, even though a baby’s behavior can be so erratic from one moment to the next. Lively admits it can get crazy going from cleaning up James’ bottom to dealing with a sudden temper tantrum in a matter of seconds, and The Shallows actress compares it to living with a drug addict, but she also says she wouldn’t have it any other way.

“You never know when you’re gonna get crapped on or when you’re gonna get a big smile or when that smile immediately turns into hysterics. It might be like living with a drug addict. But you have a baby and you think, ‘I can’t imagine ever not having a baby,’ because they grow up so quickly,” says Ms. Lively. “I’d be an 80-year-old woman with a baby if I could.”
