Team Brad And Team Angie: Who Are The Ones Helping Them Get Through The Heartbreaking Divorce?

They were one of Tinseltown’s strongest couples, but since last week, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce has been making headlines. After being together for 12 years, the couple, once called as “Brangelina,” have decided to part ways. With the issues surrounding them, one cannot help but wonder how they’re doing.

E! Online reports that Angelina is leaning on her female friends. One of them is Baroness Arminka Helic, a foreign policy specialist who similarly worked as former British foreign secretary William Hague’s adviser. Angelina and Arminka first crossed paths in 2012. The Tomb Raider actress was then collaborating with Hague on a project that aspired to put an end to sexual abuses in war zones. She reportedly travels with Angelina from time to time and mentors her on key political issues faced by war-torn places.

Another member of Angelina’s inner circle is Chloe Dalton, the daughter of a former British ambassador. In 2015, Arminka, Chloe, and Angelina established the Jolie-Pitt Dalton Helic Foundation to help women refugees.

Meanwhile, the frontliners of Team Brad are the actor’s very own parents, William and Jane. The World War Z actor maintains close ties with his parents and makes sure to involve them in raising the Jolie-Pitt children.

In 2013, Jane praised Angelina for her decision to undergo double mastectomy for her children. “We’re so very proud of Angie. This means so much to our family especially our grandchildren. We love her dearly,” she told People.

Brad’s younger siblings, Doug and Julie, are helping him as well during this difficult time. Just like their parents, the two attended Brad and Angelina’s wedding in 2014 which only involved 22 people. Doug and Julie are also active in Brad’s philanthropic endeavors.

The Maleficent actress claims that the divorce is for the sake of their children. Ever since the news broke, hundreds of memes involving Jennifer Aniston’s face have emerged. The Friends star allegedly believes that the divorce is the working of “karma.” Many argue that Aniston has no reason to think of it that way because she is now happy with partner Justin Theroux.

Theroux even expressed his disbelief to Business Insider on how people are reacting to Brad and Angelina’s divorce. “It’s shocking how much bandwidth things can take up when there are far more important things going on in the world,” he said. As someone whose parents have also divorced, Theroux empathized with the children.

Pitt recently cancelled a supposed screening event for his new film, Voyage of Time. The actor said that his current focus is his family’s situation. He also decided not to push through with the screening because he didn’t want his presence to distract people from the film. Jolie, on the other hand, is staying in a rented Malibu pad with the children.

She has reportedly hired prominent crisis manager Judy Smith – the one who inspired ABC’s Scandal to create Kerry Washington’s character, Olivia Pope. Judy is an expert in handling issues and scandals involving high-profile personalities such as Monica Lewinsky’s case. She ensures that her strategies are powerful and discreet at the same time. She is similarly a co-executive producer of Scandal.

Celebrity divorce Lawyer Laura Wasser, who has worked with clients like Ashton Kutcher and Heidi Klum, is still with Team Angie. Brad is relying on the services of their family attorney, Lance Spiegel.

Prior to the shocking announcement, Brad allegedly had a shouting match with eldest child Maddox on the family’s private plane. Brad is now cooperating with the Department of Child and Family Services to prove that he didn’t abuse any of their children. It reportedly pains him that he is being painted “in the worst possible light.”
