Caroline Manzo On Teresa Giudice, Dina Manzo, And Returning To ‘RHONJ’

Despite the fact that Caroline Manzo left The Real Housewives of New Jersey after the fifth season to star in her own spin-off, Manzo’d with Children, many Real Housewives fans are still curious about her relationships with her former co-stars, particularly Teresa Giudice and sister Dina Manzo. In an exclusive clip posted on BravoTV.com on Friday, Caroline answered viewer questions regarding Teresa and Dina. Caroline also talked about whether she regrets having done Real Housewives and whether she would ever return to the show.

Asked whether she would ever be friends with Teresa again, Caroline said that she doesn’t see a friendship between her and Teresa ever again. Caroline explained that they’re simply too different.

“That would probably be a negative. Um, Teresa and I are two very different people. I have nothing against her. I wish her well. But, uh, we see the world differently and I just don’t think there’s any chemistry there between us.”

Caroline and Teresa, who along with Dina, Danielle Staub, and Caroline and Dina’s sister-in-law Jacqueline Laurita, kicked off Season 1 together, started off as friends. Yet, that friendship deteriorated over the seasons, in particular during Season 3, when Caroline confronted Teresa about what she wrote in her cookbook Fabulicious.

In the introduction of her cookbook, Teresa wrote that Caroline “is as Italian as the Olive Garden” and that she’s still a “huge fan of Caroline Manzo, even if she is only one-sixteenth Italian, or whatever she is.”

Teresa also mentioned Caroline’s two sons, Albie and Chris Manzo, in her cookbook. Teresa seemingly threw digs at Albie and Chris’ activities and characterized them as lazy young men.

“This is a family cookbook! Unlike some of the other ‘Housewives,’ I do not condone young girls stripping to bring in business to a car wash, old ladies in hot pants climbing up on a pole to bring their sexy back, or videotaping yourself in any state of undress at any time. That’s how it is with us Italians… We spoil our kids rotten, so much that they never want to leave home. Albie and Christopher Manzo are adorable, but don’t let them fool you. Their ‘L’ in ‘GTL’ (Gym-Tanning-Laundry) is “Leave it for Mom.” That’s just how it is, and how we moms like it.”

Caroline angrily confronted Teresa about what she wrote in her cookbook on the Season 3 finale episode, as well as the reunion show. During the reunion show, Caroline also lashed at Teresa for mistreating Jacqueline. Jacqueline actually didn’t attend the Season 3 reunion show. Later, in a Bravo blog, she revealed that she didn’t attend the Season 3 reunion show largely because she didn’t want to face Teresa, especially since she wouldn’t have been able to confront Teresa over her wrong behavior. As Jacqueline explained, the cast were already filming Season 4 when it came time to film the Season 3 reunion show, which meant that they had to be careful about not divulging anything about what was happening in the fourth season.

When Season 4 began airing, viewers saw Teresa and Jacqueline Laurita viciously fight with one another. Teresa accused Jacqueline of not being a good friend and Jacqueline accused Teresa of not taking any responsibility for her bad actions. As they fought, Caroline continued standing up for and defending Jacqueline.

While Caroline Manzo was open to talking about Teresa Giudice in the latest Bravo clip, she wasn’t as open when the subject of Dina Manzo came up. Asked if her and Dina still talk, Caroline made it clear that she doesn’t want to talk about her sister. Caroline even said that the topic of her relationship with her sister is “as old as the table flip,” referencing to the moment in Season 1 when Teresa, enraged at Danielle Staub, flipped the dining table in a restaurant.

“Can we get over that please? This is as old as the table flip.”

For the two seasons of The Real Housewives of New Jersey that they were on together, Caroline and Dina got along and supported one another as sisters. Yet, for some reason, after Dina’s departure from the show after Season 2, they became estranged. Jacqueline also became estranged from Dina. None of the three woman ever publicly revealed the exact cause of their rift. Dina then returned for the show’s sixth season, which showed Jacqueline only in guest spots that didn’t include Dina. Surprisingly, over the holidays in 2014, as Us Weekly reported, both Caroline and Jacqueline reconciled with Dina and they even had dinner together.

The reconciliation between Caroline and Dina was short-lived. As previously reported the Inquisitr, when Caroline appeared on Andy Cohen’s talk show Watch What Happens Live two weeks ago, she revealed that she and Dina were out on the outs again, after being good with one another for about 10 months. Caroline again didn’t reveal the cause of the rift but did compare Dina to a rock, which prompted Dina to angrily lash out at Caroline on Twitter. Jacqueline later posted Snapchat videos in which she said that she and Dina were still fine with one another and expressed sadness over Caroline and Dina’s second estrangement.

So does Caroline regret having done Real Housewives, which has certainly publicized her family drama? Caroline said in the clip that she doesn’t regret having done the show at all.

“It was an amazing, amazing experience. The gift of reality TV is that you get to see yourself looking in and that’s a gift because you get to see the good, the bad and the ugly. I would go back, second for second, and do it all again.”

Yet just because she would do it all again doesn’t mean that viewers should expect her on future seasons. Asked if she would ever return to The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Caroline made it clear that she’s sticking with her own spin-off.

“No!”
