Miley Cyrus Performance Worries Fans – Is She Quitting Weed?

Miley Cyrus usually makes headlines for her performances at iHeart Music Festival. The singer made headlines when she made a surprise appearance alongside rock idol Billy Idol at the event this past weekend. Miley also reportedly concerned fans with both her appearance and her erratic behavior.

According to a new report via In Touch Weekly, Cyrus, 23, was a bit “off” her game at the iHeart Music Festival. Fans were concerned about Cyrus when she made a surprise appearance at the annual music event. The “Wrecking Ball” singer stepped out in full rocker gear when she hit the stage with Billy Idol to perform his hit song “Rebel Yell.” However, Cyrus’ fans were paying more attention to the way she looked and acted onstage.

“It was clear something was off,” one of the alleged sources told the magazine. “Her face was so puffy and she was slurring a bit.”

Another added that Cyrus even “forgot a few verses of the song” and “seemed stoned out of her mind.” The source revealed Cyrus often smokes weed before her performances to help her calm down and have more creative control. The singer has since ditched her “party persona” since reuniting with fiancé Liam Hemsworth, but family and friends are also concerned that Cyrus is back to her wild ways.

“She just doesn’t have a stop button, which in her case, can be dangerous,” the source added.

Radar Online, however, reported that Cyrus has already quit smoking weed. She wanted to quit the plant-based drug before she secretly married Liam Hemsworth in their rumored wedding. According to the gossip outlet, Cyrus and Hemsworth, 26, secretly wed in Australia, and her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, officiated the event. Cyrus decided to give up pot for her now-husband, an insider told the outlet.

“She went cold turkey months ago. The first week was the most difficult, but she got through it,” the insider said.

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth first met while filming the 2010 movie The Last Song. The two started dating and got engaged in 2012. Then, they split in 2013, but reunited earlier this year while on a family vacation to Australia. Although Cyrus and Hemsworth have already secretly married, they want an even bigger wedding in the U.S. for their friends and family, the insider revealed. Cyrus wasn’t just willing to give up her love for marijuana. She was also willing to give up her erotic performances and wild persona.

“Liam would never have taken Miley back had it not been for a few new rules, including toning down her X-rated antics on stage and acting more like the future mother of his children. Miley knows it was hard for him to deal with her wild partying hijinks. She’s so grateful Liam is giving her another chance. She’s doing everything she can to keep him happy, and quitting weed is a huge deal.”

The alleged friend of the couple added, “Liam is so proud of her.”

However, if you take a look at Cyrus’ Instagram account, you will notice that she still smokes marijuana. Just six days ago, she posted a photo of herself with a joint in her mouth.

In her cover story with Elle, Cyrus expressed that she’s more concerned with Britney Spears’ well-being after the pop star’s public breakdown in 2007. The two previously collaborated on the song “SMS (Bangerz)” on Cyrus’ 2013 release, Bangerz. Cyrus revealed in her latest interview that she’s stayed close to Spears since her manager, Adam Leber, works for her, as cited by Digital Spy.

“She’s a little distant in her world. I just want Britney to be happy,” she admitted. “Every time she puts out new music, I’m like, ‘Is that what she wants to be doing? Or does she just want to chill?’ She’s looking so good right now, and looking happy.”
