Tom Hiddleston May Still Be Friends With Taylor Swift, But That Doesn’t Mean He’ll Talk About Her

Tom Hiddleston vowed never to talk about Taylor Swift again. So, if you’re hoping for the actor to open up about the singer in his new interview, you will be sorely disappointed. Tom sat down for an interview with his friend, Benedict Cumberbatch, for the October 2016 issue of Interview magazine.

Tom Hiddleston, 35, has revealed he will never bring up ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, 26, again. The actor has reportedly been fed up with being asked about their high-profile relationship, which only lasted three months. Benedict Cumberbatch even defends Hiddleston’s right not to talk about the singer in the interview, as pointed out by Hollywood Life. The 40-year-old revealed why he believes it’s better for Hiddleston to keep their relationship under wraps.

“There’s another weight of us being in the public eye, which is this presumption that, because your work and your promotion work is very public, your private life should be, too,” Cumberbatch explained.

He also addressed why he wouldn’t dare ask The Night Manager star about his relationship with the famous singer.

“And, without getting into a huge debate, I just want to say that I’m not going to ask questions about my friend’s personal life just because there are unsolicited photographs of him and a certain someone, in a relationship or together. I’m not going to get into that. So that door is closed, dear reader.”

Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston ended their whirlwind romance earlier this month. The two were first spotted having a dance-off at the Met Gala back in May. Hiddleswift broke the internet on June 15 when photos of the pop star and the Thor actor kissing on the beach in Rhode Island surfaced.

Even though it looks like there could be some bad blood between the pair, the actor was previously asked if he’s still friends with his ex-girlfriend at the 2015 Emmy Awards. Hiddleston gave a very cool response.

“Yes. Yes we are,” he coolly said to People with a smile on his face, as noted by Entertainment Weekly.

Hiddleston showed up to the awards ceremony in Los Angeles solo that night. He was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in Limited Series or Movie for his performance in The Night Manger. Hiddleston also infamously presented the Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series, Movie, or Dramatic Special category, while twirling Priyanka Chopra around on stage. The two caused the romance rumors to swirl before, during, and after the Emmys.

Alleged onlookers told People that Hiddleston appeared in great spirits that night. He also took selfies and interacted with fans on the red carpet. But in his new interview, Hiddleston would only talk about his acting career. He explained what it was like to return to his villainous Loki character a few years later, as reported in a separate Entertainment Weekly report.

“The best thing about it, honestly, is working with Chris again. I first met him in Kenneth Branagh’s house in England in 2009. We were mere children, in the very beginning of our acting journeys. We made an instant connection, and it’s been extraordinary to share the ride with him—this mad journey with Marvel.”

Hiddleston also posed for his Interview magazine spread, in which he looks like a cross between an action figure and a BDSM character. In addition, Hiddleston’s new ad campaign for Gucci’s Cruise 2017 collection has surfaced onto the internet, thanks to GQ. The posh British actor is seen posing in various Gucci suits and blazers, complete with colorful socks and loafers.
