Brad Pitt Skipping Latest Premiere, Ready To Focus More On His Family, Denies Physical Abuse, Admits To Intoxication

It’s only been a week since news broke that one of the world’s hottest couples was calling it quits. Angelina Jolie shocked the world when she announced that she was filing for divorce from Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt, after months of tabloid speculation. The matter which reportedly added to the demise of the relationship had to do with Brad’s parenting, and Jolie made it known that her decision was for the good of her family.

Following news breaking about the divorce, a story surfaced stating that Brad was being investigated for his actions against the couple’s oldest son, Maddox. Pitt reportedly became heated on a plane while he, Angelina, and their six children were heading from Europe to Los Angeles on a private jet. At one point he is said to have lunged at the 15-year-old who was standing up for his mother. There is even said to be an ongoing FBI investigation into the matter. However, no charges have been pressed, and friends of Brad have stated that he is a fantastic father.

FBI agents who spoke on the matter stated that they are”continuing to gather facts and will evaluate whether an investigation at the federal level will be pursued.” The incident reportedly occurred on September 14.

Brad seems to be doing his best to demonstrate that he is invested in his family by refraining from attending his most recent premiere for the film Voyage of Time, in order to focus on them. Us Weekly relays words that Pitt shared about his role in the film, the beauty of the movie, and why he will not make an appearance at the film’s premiere.

“[Filmmaker] Terrence [Malick]’s Voyage of Time is an incredibly beautiful and unique experimental IMAX film for children and families chronicling the birth of time. I’m very grateful to be part of such a fascinating and educational project, but I’m currently focused on my family situation and don’t want to distract attention away from this extraordinary film, which I encourage everyone to see.”

As noted, Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt late on the night of Monday, September 19, when she cited “irreconcilable differences” after two years of marriage and 12 years as a couple. The UN ambassador and actress is seeking sole physical custody of the couple’s six children, Maddox, 15; Pax, 12; Zahara, 11; Shiloh, 10; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8.

Angelina is being represented by notable Hollywood divorce attorney Laura Wasser and the star has requested that Brad only be granted joint legal custody of the children. The publication revealed that Pitt had been completely taken by surprise by the filing of divorce papers and did not find out Angelina’s intentions until it had been done. The documents state the official date of separation to be September 15, one day after the alleged private jet incident.

Sources have shared that the incident, which may have been the catapult to Jolie filing for divorce, was caught on video, and allegedly shows an intoxicated Pitt being verbally and physically abusive to the kids while also arguing with Angelina Jolie. An additional insider spoke with Us and stated that Pitt “knows the severity of the allegations and wants to be cleared of abuse” prior to being reunited with his six children. Brad Pitt has not seen his children since Jolie filed for divorce on September 19.

The Daily Mail shares words of a source who stated that Brad admitted to being intoxicated and yelling, but that he was not physically abusive toward Maddox or any of his children.

“Brad admitted to being drunk and losing his temper, but that’s it. He even took a urine drug test on the spot.”

Reports as to the results of the investigation have yet to be communicated.
