Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt Divorce Gets Messy
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt caused Twitter to mourn that “love is dead” when news spread of their divorce, but the mourning quickly changed to intrigue as more details emerged of what is happening within their split drama.

Angelina is plotting to take down Brad, and that includes a “smear campaign,” according to Us Weekly. The actor, described as “blindsided” by the news that Jolie had filed for divorce on September 19, suddenly became the target of multiple reports describing him as the villain in their marriage.
It’s Angeline and her inner circle who are allegedly fueling the bad press with Team Jolie “running a smear campaign,” a source told Us.
One example cited by Us originated with TMZ, which claimed that Pitt was “verbally abusive and physical” with his kids in front of Jolie on a private jet.
There’s a distinctive difference between how Jolie’s inner circle and Brad’s pals describe the situation. Angelina’s friends allege that her estranged husband “has a terrible temper,” with allegations of abuse. In contrast, one of Pitt’s buddies contends that the actor was not abusive during the pivotal incident on the plane.
Even though Brad allegedly was shocked by Jolie’s filing for divorce, the couple had been battling for “years,” according to Us, and that led to Angelina’s decision.
Multiple insiders told Us that Angelina gave her estranged husband minimal notification about her decision to sum up their issues as “irreconcilable” and file for divorce.
“Angelina filed the papers a minute before the courts closed. He didn’t have a lawyer or anything,” revealed one of the insiders.
“[Brad] has been crying constantly. [He] is a shattered man.”
A friend of the actor’s told the Daily Mail that the situation is hurting everyone involved. Referencing a report that alleged the plane battle between Pitt and one of his sons caused the movie star to hit the teenager “intentionally or inadvertently,” the pal described the allegations as fictional. The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services and the FBI are investigating the incident on the plane.
“These claims are exaggerated and fabricated,” insisted the friend. “It’s unfortunate for the whole family that people are insisting on continuing this endless smear campaign against Brad that hurts everyone.”
The friend also clarified that “despite the smears,” the actor has sought to avoid slamming Angelina because he wants their youngsters to have positive feelings about both their father and mother. A source cited by the Daily Mail revealed that their relationship had been “difficult” for some time.
“He was appealing to her to do this quietly – not to save the marriage but to consider the well-being of the children – and it was ignored,” added the insider. “There was clearly a breaking point, where [Jolie had] just had enough. He may have been broken himself and said he couldn’t go on, and she reacted.”
And in contrast to the reports that it was the plane incident that caused Angelina to file for divorce, another source quoted by the Daily Mail revealed that their marriage problems gradually accumulated, emphasizing that Jolie did love him.
“She’s loved this man for several years, and [divorce] is not something you do impulsively,” emphasized the second source. “[Angelina did] what she needed to do.”
