WWE Spoilers: Which Wrestler Is Challenging Roman Reigns For His New Title?

Roman Reigns has only recently been minted as the WWE US Champion, but according to the latest round of WWE spoilers, he won’t be holding that title for long if a certain wrestler has anything to say about it.

In their WWE spoilers posted today, the Christian Post is reporting that Roman Reigns will give up his new title before the end of the year so that he can once again be in contention for the Universal Championship. This spoiler suggests that Reigns will eventually face Kevin Owens for the title, providing that Owens actually keeps the title in the first place. Reigns’ rumored upcoming match against Seth Rollins just might be the match that causes Reigns to lose his newly-won title.

Despite the fact that Roman Reigns only won the US Championship title a few days ago, it already seems like the WWE is trying to make Reigns lose the title and the main card promotion. To say this is suspicious is an understatement, but why is the WWE so gung ho about this popular, but controversial, wrestler having a title in the first place?

In their recently-released WWE spoilers, Forbes Magazine suspects that it’s because the company is more interested in promoting Kevin Owens as the “top star,” or so they say. While Kevin Owens is frequently billed as a “main card” wrestler, Forbes makes the interesting observation that the first hour of wrestling always gets more viewers than the subsequent hours, so much so that by the time the “main event” comes up, several hundred thousand viewers are lost.

So if the WWE isn’t interested in Roman Reigns’ career, that is, they want to push him off the roster, why are Reigns’ fights always within the first hour of the show, when there is the most viewership? Surely, the company cannot be ignorant to this ratings fact.

In addition, Roman Reigns’ storylines seem to be much more developed, while Kevin Owens’ storylines are lost in the feud between Triple H and Seth Rollins. It seems as though Kevin Owens only exists to set up the inevitable Triple H and Seth Rollins battle for the upcoming Wrestlemania bout, and not as a standalone wrestler. Is this the sort of treatment that a so-called “main card” wrestler deserves?

But Bleacher Report’s latest WWE spoilers have a very different view of the Roman Reigns title run. They’re suggesting that the US Championship win by Reigns over Rusev is “the only move the company has left” when it comes to promoting him, because fans are “sick to death” of him and still want The Shield to reunite (which, by the way, is not something that Reigns has ruled out as a possibility).

In addition, the outlet is reporting that Reigns is trying to recapture the glory he lost when he was suspended for a “wellness violation,” and the only way to do that is to position him as the heir apparent to John Cena even though, interestingly enough, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one of his cousins.

“This is the right way to handle Roman’s career now. He’s been on top, he’s seen and done it all, but now he’s back to semi-main event status. It’s obvious that WWE is not giving up on him, and it’s also obvious that he’s not giving up on WWE. If he’s going to be there and he’s going to be a featured talent, then he’s in the right position to make it work.”
