Harry Styles Vs. Zayn Malik: Did Gigi Hadid Throw Shade At Harry On Snapchat?

Harry Styles’ fans have seen very little of the pop star since One Direction went on an indefinite hiatus, but the singer recently stepped back into the spotlight by posing for three different Another Man magazine covers. With an upcoming solo album and a role in a major movie, Harry is primed to become the most successful member of One Direction. However, Gigi Hadid just reminded her Snapchat followers that Zayn Malik is supposed to be the Justin Timberlake of the band.

Harry Styles’ long hair is back in one of the three Another Man covers that he shared on his Instagram page. However, the accessory he rocks with his long locks is unlike anything One Direction fans have ever see him wear. The Guardian described Styles’ leather dog collar-like choker as “embracing the 90s resurgence and offering a nod to the BDSM community.”

For another cover photo, Harry appears to be rocking the short hairstyle he’ll be seen sporting in Dunkirk. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Harry Styles had to lop off his long locks to play a World War II soldier in director Christopher Nolan’s historical action-thriller. The singer donated his ponytail to a charity that makes wigs for kids with cancer. Fans will get to see Harry’s retro hairstyle in action when Dunkirk hits theaters on July 21, 2017.

Harry’s close friend, comedian Chelsea Handler, and legendary musician Paul McCartney interviewed him for his Another Man profile. Fans can read it when the magazine hits newsstands on September 29.

Harry Styles may have three different magazine covers that he doesn’t have to share with his former One Direction bandmates, but Gigi Hadid recently hinted that she’s a much bigger fan of Zayn Malik’s single cover for the September issue of Elle, a magazine with a much higher profile than that of Another Man. The more obscure publication says that it caters to “an expanding menswear market and resurgence of creativity in men’s fashion.”

Many One Direction fans believe that Gigi was responding to Harry’s trio of Another Man covers when she shared a Snapchat photo of her boyfriend’s black-and-white Elle cover. The model gave her snap a caption that simply read, “A cover.”

As the Mirror reports, Harry’s fans were quick to call Gigi out for throwing shade at Harry Styles.

“Gigi is shading Harry on Snapchat…why are they both so extra? Harry remains rich and unbothered,” one fan wrote.

Others begged the model to let Zayn Malik’s old bandmate have “his moment.”

Zayn Malik also recently scored a spot on the cover of Highsnobiety Magazine’s 13th issue. However, unlike Harry, the “Pillowtalk” singer didn’t get three different covers of his own. Instead, the streetwear magazine decided to shoot four different covers with four different men. Zayn shares the front of the magazine with Young Thug, Edison Chen, and Haider Ackermann.

So why would Gigi Hadid harbor ill will toward Harry? For one thing, he’s the ex of two of her BFFs, Taylor Swift and Kendall Jenner. As the Daily Mail reports, Gigi dissed Harry at the American Music Awards last November when she ran into One Direction on the red carpet. She gave every member of the band a hug except for Harry. All he got was a “frosty handshake.”

However, Gigi Hadid isn’t always an ice queen when it comes to her friend’s ex-boyfriends. As Seventeen points out, she actually dated another of Taylor Swift’s exes, DNCE member Joe Jonas. Gigi started dating Zayn soon after she and Joe broke up.

It’s possible that Gigi dislikes Harry Styles not just because of his relationship with Taylor Swift, but because of a beef Harry had with her boyfriend. According to Sugarscape, there were reports that Harry and Zayn got into a fight in 2013 after a video went viral that appeared to show Zayn and Louis smoking a joint.

“It’s Zayn and Louis against the others – Harry, Liam, and Niall are furious. They had a dramatic meeting last week and Harry was the first to lash out, telling them they’d messed everything up,” a source told the print edition of Closer. “But Zayn turned it around on Harry and accused him of only being interested in himself.”

Perhaps Harry Styles isn’t missing all the drama that comes with working alongside four other people now that he’s focusing on his solo career. Mashable speculates that Harry’s Another Man interview may shed some light on his rumored upcoming album, and fans will certainly be interested to see if he says anything about Zayn Malik and the remaining members of One Direction. Gigi Hadid may be just as eager to get her hands on a copy.
