Wide Receiver Danny Amendola will undergo another round of tests on Friday to determine the extent of his right shoulder injury.

The St. Louis Rams player injured his shoulder during a diving attempt in the second quarter of his teams Thursday night 17-3 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Amendola’s first round of tests were inconclusive.

Following the injury, a TV camera spotted Amendola as he walked into the team locker room. Frustrated by his injury, Amendola flung his helmet into a nearby wall. After undergoing a standard X-ray, Amendola returned to the sideline with his arm in a sling.

After the contest, the St. Louis Rams did not make Danny Amendola available for comment regarding his injury.

Speaking to ESPN.com’s Jeffri Chadiha, the Rams general manager Les Snead said the team wouldn’t attempt to make a diagnosis until further tests were completed. Snead also revealed that the wide receivers clavicle did not appear to have broken and that he is expected to play again this season.

The loss of Amendola is a big blow for the Rams; the star wide receiver entered Thursday night’s game with 31 receptions, second most in the NFL. Amendola also has two touchdowns with an 11.3-yard average.

Injury is nothing new to Amendola who missed most of the 2011-2012 season with a dislocated left elbow. Last season’s injury occurred in the team’s opening match.
