Barb From ‘Stranger Things’ Is Dead And Other Season 2 Spoilers

You may find this an unfortunate turn of events, but it should come as no surprise to learn that Stranger Things Barbara Holland has died and won’t be back for Season 2. She was a fun character, and everybody had grown close to her and loved her, but even she couldn’t escape her fate in the end, especially one with such a dark one, as only a Stranger Things fate could be.

Because there has been so much speculation surrounding Barbara Holland, the Huffington Post has reported that Stranger Things creators Ross and Matt Duffer have confirmed that Barb is now officially gone, for those of you who may have harbored doubts.

“I mean, yes ? yes, she’s dead. I thought we were pretty clear about that. There’s a slug hanging out of her mouth ? out of her dead corpse. And then if you were still confused, Chief Jim Hopper finds her in the nest, also very dead.”

Ross Duffer goes on to add that anybody who is convincing themselves that she hasn’t met an untimely demise is suffering from “wishful thinking.”

After having grown so close to the characters in the first season, everybody is now wondering who the new characters will be and what they will be like. What we know now is that there will be three new characters on Stranger Things named Max, Roman, and Billy. Max will be the 13-year-old female character with a deep and abiding love of bicycles. But what kind of role will she be playing exactly? As the first episode has already been given the title “Madmax,” should we be expecting a hellraiser, a very strong character role, or both?

Billy will be Max’s brother and he is thought to be a “confident” kind of guy.

Nobody was quite certain at first whether Roman would be a male or female character, and the only thing we knew for sure was that he had had a very difficult upbringing with a mother who had a propensity for drugs, making Roman a character who was desperately out for “revenge.” He is now reported to be a middle-aged man, so even if we still don’t know a lot about Season 2, we are at least a little wiser about that much today.

While everyone is fervently hoping that Eleven will reappear for the next season, this has been thrown into some doubt after actress Millie Bobby Brown stated in an interview that even she wasn’t sure if she would be coming back.

“I’m not sure if I’m going to be in it but it’s fantastic, has great writers and directors. It will be good.”

And speaking of Eleven, someone on Reddit who goes by the name ValdemarSt is such a huge fan of Stranger Things that they have actually gone back and watched the entirety of Season 1 all over again in order to count the number of words that Eleven says. How many words does her character use? According to this fan, it is exactly 246 words. Episode 7 is the one that sees Eleven speaking the most and clocking in at 70 words, including “gone” repeatedly 11 times.

For all the obsessive fans out there, filming will begin next month for Season 2 of Stranger Things, and everybody can breathe a deep sigh of relief as 2017 is just around the corner, and that is when we will all see what happens when you live in a small Indiana town in the 1980’s. At least in a world of Stranger Things.

There will be nine episodes in Season 2, which happily gives us one more episode than we got in Season 1. The episode titles in order from 1 to 9 will be “Madmax,” “The Boy Who Came Back to Life”, “The Pumpkin Patch,” “The Palace, “The Storm,” “The Pollywog,” “The Secret Cabin,” “The Brain,” and “The Lost Brother.”
