Three American Men In Child-Sex Tourism Face Prosecution

Three American men expelled in Cambodia for sexually abusing minors face prosecution in a federal court in Los Angeles Tuesday in a test case for an international effort against child-sex tourism.
The suspects — Ronald Boyajian, 49, Erik Peeters, 41, and Jack Sporich, 75 – have been arrested in Cambodia under Operation Twisted Traveler jointly undertaken by U.S. and Cambodian authorities with help from non-governmental organizations. They arrived in Los Angeles Monday and will appear in court Tuesday.
The three men are former residents of California and are registered sex offenders. Boyajian is accused of having sex with a 10-year-old girl in Cambodia while the two other suspects are charged with sexually abusing at least four Cambodian boys. They face 30-year sentences for each victim.
Operation Twisted Traveler was launched in October to address the rampant child-sex tourism in Cambodia.
