Youngsters might want to rethink attacking ‘defenseless’ old ladies

I love this one, after all there is nothing better than reading about a pair of wannabe gangsters getting their comeuppance and the hands of their victim – especially when that victim is a 72-year-old woman.

This was the case in Sydney, Australia, when Dawn Fraser was recently confronted by two youths when they entered her daughter’s home waking her in the process. When the one youth threatened to kill her as he attacked he suddenly discovered that he might have bitten off more than he could chew when Dawn said she “lost it” and defended herself.

You see Dawn Fraser might be 72 but she is also one of Australia’s Olympic swimming greats when at the age of 19 she shattered the world record to win the 100 meter freestyle at the 1956 Olympics, and she has kept herself in fit condition since. It also helps that she has a titanium knee which she placed forcefully in the attacker’s groin.

“Out came this guy who then grabbed me around the throat and said ‘I will kill you’, and with that I grabbed him around the ear and hair and kneed him in the groin,” she told Channel Seven television late Monday.

“I was threatened by the way he spoke to me and I’d never been spoken to like what he called me… I think I lost it. I have got a titanium knee so it must have hurt him,” she said.
