The Red Hot Chili Peppers 2017 North American Getaway Tour Dates And Locations

The Red Hot Chili Peppers announced their 2017 North American Getaway Tour to begin on January 5, 2017, in San Antonio Texas. There will be three Texas dates before the tour moves on to New Orleans, home of their opening act. This 24 stop, hard and fast Getaway Tour will come to an end March 18, 2017.

Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will support and open for all scheduled concerts. This New Orleans Jazz phenomenon is the equal of the great jazz musicians that have gone before him. Shorty is, in fact, the descendant of a classic Jazz musician.

Trombone Shorty, for those who do not know, is a legendary New Orleans Jazz artist, who began as a child prodigy and never stopped learning and growing as a musician, according to Offbeat. He is a legend within his genre. Trombone Shorty a.k.a. Troy Andrews explains a little of his history in his own words.

“In Treme, music was everywhere, from church to the street, to my very own house. My grandfather, Jessie Hill, was a musician and my brother James was a musician, and I wanted to be just like them. There were people always coming and going from my house, but music was the thing we had in common. No matter how tough things got, listening to music always made me feel better.”

Jack Irons, the original drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers will appear at all of the January 2017 shows. The band is excited to have Irons with them this January and fans will be thrilled to see him again.
