UFC News: WWE Star Becky Lynch Feels Nate Diaz Held Back Against Conor McGregor

When Conor McGregor was preparing to fight Nate Diaz at UFC 202, he made some interesting statements about WWE wrestlers. Conor basically blasted Brock Lesnar for failing his drug test and then said almost everyone in the WWE locker room were pu**ies. The McGregor comments were met with heated comebacks from WWE stars.

However, Samoa Joe refused to talk about it, saying that McGregor was just promoting himself and the UFC. CM Punk said that McGregor was just pushing the buttons of WWE stars. Now, new WWESmackDown Live women’s champion Becky Lynch, who is also an Irish-born superstar, told ESPN that she agrees with those assessments of the Conor McGregor insults.

“He used a wrestling line to offend wrestlers. He knows what he’s doing, he’s using wrestling-style promos. And it has gotten him to where he is today. He’s just being a smart businessman and fair play to him for it.”

The Inquisitr previously reported that “Nature Boy” Ric Flair spoke up after Conor McGregor made the insulting remarks and said that Conor styled his entire UFC persona around Flair’s wrestling character. McGregor denied this and said that he was just being himself, but the comments came so close to UFC 202 that it looked like Conor knew exactly what he was doing. Conor McGregor promoted his UFC fight by trying to get WWE fans to buy the PPV to watch him get beat.

Of course, that didn’t happen as Conor McGregor beat Nate Diaz in a really hard-fought UFC fight. It was much more competitive than the first fight, which Diaz won over Conor. However, Becky Lynch has a conspiracy theory as well about the McGregor vs. Diaz UFC 202 fight.

“I feel like Diaz held back. Don’t you? Do you know what I mean? I feel like he wasn’t hitting him as hard as he could. I wonder if he just wanted to make it go to fight No. 3.”

Nate Diaz doesn’t seem like someone who would hold back in a fight, especially against Conor McGregor, and seems the polar opposite of someone who would throw a UFC fight. However, the payday for a rubber match between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz could make both UFC fighters a ton of money. While it is possible, it is something that will never be proven.

As for Becky Lynch, she stopped short of actually calling Nate Diaz out for the Conor McGregor UFC 202 loss. She also talked about the CM Punk UFC fight and said that it was a hard fight to watch and she felt uncomfortable during the WWE star’s two-minute UFC loss to Mickey Gall. However, she said that she gives CM Punk credit for actually stepping into the UFC octagon.

Becky Lynch was also asked the question a lot of WWE stars have been asked lately. When asked if she would ever consider a UFC career, she quickly said no. Lynch said that she did a boxing class and when she was punched in the nose, she decided she had quite enough of that, ruling out the UFC completely.

On the other side of things, Conor McGregor seems a perfect fit for professional wrestling in WWE when his UFC career ends. While Conor is not very big, smaller than most WWE cruiserweights, he has the personality and character that would make him a perfect villain. As Becky Lynch said, McGregor knows how to push wrestlers and wrestling fan’s buttons, so there is always a chance for a WWE career for Conor McGregor when he leaves the UFC.
