Kim Kardashian’s Surprising Announcement: Wants To Attend Law School In Her ‘Older Age’

Kim Kardashian, the successful businesswoman, wife, and mother-of-two, wants to add lawyer to her list. The 35-year-old sat down with Wonderland Magazine, to which she made the surprising revelation.

“If things slow down and I had time, I really wanna go to law school – just something I can do in my older age.”

The idea of going to law school is part of the mogul’s longterm plan, which include the possibility of becoming a forensic investigator. The article adds Kim has “flirted” with the idea of working as an intern for a member of Johnnie Cochran’s team— since Cochran is the defense lawyer her father partnered with on the infamous O.J. Simpson trial. As you most likely know, Robert Kardashian, Sr. made a name for himself during the murder trial. So, Kim is no stranger to what it takes to be a successful lawyer.

With that said, I doubt Kim is serious about pursuing law. All the current law students, lawyers, and overall haters can calm down now. Kardashian hasn’t even obtained a Bachelor’s degree, which is necessary before moving up to the big leagues of law school. Harper’s Bazaar weighed in on the shocking idea of a Kardashian attending law school with mention of her wardrobe resembling that of Amal Clooney. Apparently Amal dresses lawyerly? But let’s not cheapen her dream with focusing on her physical appearance, society does that to women enough already.

The Harper’s Bazaar article adds that Kim would need to let go of some of her current business roles, such as filming Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Wait, what? No more KUWTK?! I don’t want to live in a world where there’s no Sunday evening Kardashians to watch. While I may not be a fan of losing Kim to law school, I’m also not one to rain on people’s parades. However, plenty of social media users have made their opinions quite clear on the subject.

Facebook comments range from supportive to downright nasty. Of course, people are trying to wrap their heads around the possibility of a Kardashian having more intelligence than them. I think Kim is smart— she didn’t get to where she is by making poor choices, minus the sex tape part. But like I previously stated, I think this is just one of Kim’s “it would be nice if…” ideas, something that we all have at some point.

People are being unnecessarily judgmental and calling out things from her “whiny voice” to her “delusional husband,” who must be the influence behind her statement because of course Kim doesn’t have an original thought in her head, right? That was sarcasm. But not all commenters are being this vicious.

One woman left quite the encouraging comment on the article, saying she can’t knock Kim for wanting to try new things.

“I like how she shows ambition for other things, it shows that she has more sides to her than perhaps the reality show shows, she’s also saying to girls with this that there’s more to life than reality TV and for that I can’t knock her.”

Yup, Joanne, you’re right on the money with this one! Kardashian has shown girls that nothing is off limits when it comes to pursing a career. Kim has gone above and beyond when it comes to issues such as body acceptance, money management, and diversifying her career. Granted, she has had a few bumps in the road, but she always comes out on top. Unfortunately for Kim, she’s one of those celebs people love to hate.

No matter what she does right, people will always be ready to attack her over the smallest of things. I admit, the first time I heard Kim wanted to attend law school, I immediately thought “what the heck does she think law school is?” I have much respect for all those who pursue a career in law, but why can’t a Kardashian have a crack at it, too? Even if it’s just a dream of hers, we should respect that and encourage her.

We’ll have to wait and see if Kim really does apply for law school in her “older age.”
