Dallas Cop Sues Black Lives Matter, President Obama, Hillary Clinton And More On Behalf Of ‘Jews, Christians and Caucasians’

Dallas police sergeant Demetrick Pennie has filed a lawsuit against 17 parties, including Black Lives Matter, President Obama, and Hillary Clinton, charging them of inciting “their supporters and others to engage in threats of and attacks to cause serious bodily injury or death upon police officers and other law enforcement persons of all races and ethnicities including but not limited to Jews, Christians, and Caucasians,” as per a report from the Washington Post.

Sgt. Pennie, who is president of the Dallas Fallen Officer Foundation, first drew media attention after Cleveland Browns running back Isaiah Crowell accepted his invitation to attend the funeral of Patrick Zamarripa, one of the five Dallas police officers shot and killed this past July at a Black Lives Matter protest rally, as previously reported by The Inquisitr. The meeting seemed to go well, according to Sgt. Pennie.

“As leaders in the police community, it is our duty to establish and maintain the public trust. We in the Dallas Police Department are hurting and now it is time to start the healing process by creating greater understanding in the community. My interactions with Mr. Crowell demonstrates that mutual understanding is possible as long as both parties are willing to listen.”

Unfortunately, Sgt. Pennie seems to have decided to take things in a different direction, working with Larry Klayman, founder of Freedom Watch, and infamous filer of frivolous lawsuits, to submit a 66-page lawsuit to the United States District Court of the Northern District of Texas.

The suit names 17 defendants. Louis Farrakhan, the Nation of Islam, Al Sharpton, the National Action Network, Black Lives Matter, Rashad Turner, Opal Tometi, Patrisse Cullors, Alicia Garza, Johnetta Elzie, DeRay Mckesson, Malik Zulu Shabazz, the New Black Panther Party, George Soros, Barack Obama, Eric Holder, and Hillary Clinton, and seeks damages in excess of $500 million, although it demonstrates no specific harm received by Sgt. Pennie, a requirement for federal lawsuits.

The document features the phrase “including but not limited to Jews, Christians, and Caucasians” 35 times.

According to the Boston Herald, Klayman also filed suit in August against Hillary Clinton, on behalf of the families of Benghazi victims, alleging wrongful death and defamation.

In a statement on Facebook, Sgt. Pennie said that he “acted individually” in filing the suit and that the Dallas Police Department is not involved.

Klayman made a statement about the lawsuit, saying that “Sergeant Pennie and I feel duty-bound to put ourselves forward to seek an end to the incitement of violence against law enforcement which has already resulted in the death of five police officers in Dallas and the wounding of seven more, just in Texas alone.”

“While the case was filed in Texas, it will create precedent around the nation that law enforcement, which ironically protects the very persons who are alleged to have incited this violence, should be respected.”

“The defendants, if not legally reined in, are allegedly responsible, along with others, for igniting a race war that will ultimately totally destroy the freedoms that our Founding Fathers bequeathed to us.”

While it is likely that the suit will be thrown out for a variety of reasons, many on social media have actually spoken out in support of it, hailing Sgt. Pennie as a “new hero” and claiming to “stand with” him.

Pennie also recently, predictably, weighed in on the Colin Kaepernick controversy.

But as Dallas Morning News’s Leona Allen notes, Pennie’s (who is a member of the black community himself) suit causes more harm than good.

“What happened to trying to work together to address the underlying reasons for this strife?”

Nobody wants to see more deaths. Not of African-Americans, not of police officers. Sadly, Pennie’s suit only serves to increase the tensions and polarization that have resulted in the shooting epidemic over recent years, and it is unfortunate that Sgt. Pennie, as a member of both communities, doesn’t seem to understand that.
