‘Destiny’ Guide: How To Get Iron Medallions For The Gjallarhorn Quest

Bungie has hidden plenty of items in Destiny: Rise of Iron for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players to search for. The Iron Medallions are a necessary step in the Echoes of the Past quest line to obtain the Year 3 Gjallarhorn. This guide will help you complete the Beauty of Destruction quest step, showing where all the Iron Medallions are located.

Note that completing the Rise of Iron story missions and the first two Echoes of the Past quest steps is required to pick up the Iron Medallions. You’ll only be able to look, but not touch until then.

Felwinter’s Peak (Social)

You don’t have to worry about anyone shooting at you with the Iron Medallion located in Destiny‘s new social space, but you do have to do some platforming. It’s not terribly difficult, though. The rocks to the left of the bounty vendor hold a wolf statue. Leap up there and then back across to the right to find the first Iron Medallion.

It’s a fairly easy ascent to the wolf and then a jump across to the ledge.

The Iron Medallion awaits.

Lord’s Watch (Plaguelands Patrol)

This Iron Medallion is located nearby as soon as you spawn into the Plaguelands. Simply look the right of the Lord’s Watch spawn point and see a small nearby building. The Iron Medallion is sitting on a shelf just inside the door.

Run to the other side of this building to find the door where this Destiny Iron Medallion sits.

Giant’s Husk (Plaguelands Patrol)

Hop on your Sparrow and take the right path from Lord’s Watch to the Giant’s Husk zone. As soon as you exit the tunnel into Giant’s Husk, look up at the bridge holding the containers on the right. Follow the rocks up and jump through the hole in the bridge.

Once on top of the bridge, make your way straight down the middle.

The Iron Medallion is sitting on the right in the corner of a gap between containers about midway across.

Archon’s Keep (Plagulands Patrol)

Summon the Sparrow once again and continue down the path out of the Giant’s Husk zone and then through the Doomed Sea zone. Go all the way back to back of The Archon’s Keep where the domed building that takes you to the Archon’s Forge is located. Go past the building instead of into it and you’ll find the Iron Medallion sitting in a pile of rubble.

This one is hard to spot because it blends in very well with the rubble. Thankfully, Bungie added the artifact icon hovering over the Iron Medallion.

Site 6 (Plaguelands Patrol)

Now you can run into Archon’s Forge and through it, just like you did in the final Destiny: Rise of Iron story mission. There is a hole in the wall opposite the terminal platform. Go through it and follow the tunnel until you find yourself in the Warrens.

Once you reach the water, turn left and follow the path to the room with the door blocked by lasers.

You’ll find the Iron Medallion just under the pipes to the left and up the stairs.

Bunker Triglav (Plaguelands Patrol)

The easiest way to get to this Iron Medallion is to spawn back at the Plaguelands Patrol starting point. Summon your Sparrow and turn left this time and follow the path to the Bunker Triglav zone.

Once there, head to the domed building to the right of the control tower in the middle of the area. You’ll want to head to the left side of the entrance and follow it to the first opening on the left. The Iron Medallion is sitting on the floor in some rubble next to a door.

Forgotten Pass (Plaguelands Patrol/Wretched Eye Strike)

You can continue through Bunker Triglav and go to the Plaguelands Patrol or you can get this one at the very start of the Wretched Eye Strike. When you reach the bridge, go to the other side where a couple of Fallen containers sit just past a truck.

The Iron Medallion is sitting on the ground next to the last container on the bridge.
