Man Allegedly Murders Four Children And Forces Wife To Watch, Spent Time In Prison For Killing Another Wife Who Was Six Months Pregnant

Gregory Green, a Michigan man accused in the quadruple homicide of family members and forcing his wife to watch as he killed the two oldest children execution-style, appeared in district court Wednesday, Detroit News is reporting.

The 49-year old man told the district judge that he fully understood the charges brought before him and said he did not need a bond.

“I don’t need bond. I mean, I don’t think I deserve it.”

He appeared in court without a lawyer.

Green, who kept his head down during the short court hearing, was barefooted, handcuffed, and bound at the feet. He was charged on four counts of first-degree murder, one count each of assault with intent to commit great bodily harm, unlawful imprisonment, felonious assault as a felon in possession, and torture.

Green is accused of killing the two girls he had with Faith Green, 39, via carbon monoxide poisoning and returning them to their beds. He had also stabbed his wife in the face with a box cutter and shot her in the foot. He had then resorted to fatally shooting his wife’s teenage children execution-style in the basement.

Green called 911, 1:15 am Wednesday, and waited on his front porch for police to arrive. When the police arrived, they found 39-year-old Faith bleeding and bound with zip ties and duct tape. Chadney Allen, 19, and Kara Allen, 17, had been shot multiple times and confirmed dead at the scene.

An investigation revealed that a duct tape was used on the car muffler and was responsible for killing Green’s daughters, Koi Green, 5, and Kaliegh Green. The young girls were taken to a hospital where it was confirmed they had died of carbon monoxide poisoning. The girls were in preschool; Koi had recently enrolled to start first grade.

Police Captain Michael Petri said there was no record of a domestic dispute inside the family, and the department was not aware that Faith Green had filed a personal protection order against Gregory Green.

However, investigative records showed that Gregory Green was the subject of an abortive personal protection order in 2013. The order had been rejected by Judge Deborah Adams with a rationale that “insufficient allegations” had made it difficult to pursue a personal protection order any further.

Petri said he was still reeling from what Green did to his family.

“As a father of three children…the thought that you could do something like that to your own children has no correlation to any reason in my mind.”

According to the Michigan Department of Corrections, Green had been previously imprisoned for killing his wife who was six months pregnant with his child, two decades ago. Coincidentally, Green had also called police authorities after stabbing Tonya Green. He had pleaded guilty to the charge of second-degree murder and spent 16 years in prison. In 2008, he gained his freedom after his fifth parole attempt.

Chris Gautz, spokesman for the Department of Corrections, said Green was denied multiple paroles basically because he showed no regret for stabbing his wife to death.

“He was denied parole four times for various reasons, but they all centered around the main idea that he had not shown remorse for his crimes, had not gained adequate insight, and a lack of empathy…he completed several cognitive-based programs and was paroled the fifth time.”

Before his parole in April 2010, Gregory had only one problem in prison, which occurred in 2002, when he and another inmate got into fight “over a TV.”

Green married Faith two years after getting out of prison in 2010. Faith Green had filed divorce claims October 11, 2013, and a second time, August 11, 2016, against Green.
