Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Were Planning To Adopt Their Seventh Child Prior To Their Divorce?

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were rumored to be planning for a seventh child before their divorce announcement earlier this week.

Following the adoption of three of their children, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, and Zahara, 11, a source claimed Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who had allegedly been facing marital troubles since earlier this year, had decided to add another child to their family.

“They’re celebrating saving their marriage with the best present possible: a seventh child,” an alleged friend of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie told In Touch Weekly magazine in July. “Now that the divorce is off and they’re back on track, they feel adopting another child will strengthen their relationship even more.”

Before the report, rumors claimed Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were on the outs due to a potential on-set affair between Pitt and his Allied co-star, Marion Cotillard, and Jolie’s extreme jealousy. However, in July, the source suggested that Pitt and Jolie had worked through their marriage turmoil and decided to stay together.

“Brad and Angelina are putting the wheels in motion to adopt an older child from South Africa, Burundi or Ethiopia, where Zahara was born,” explained the friend.

Before the start of her relationship with Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie adopted Maddox from Cambodia. Then, after the couple confirmed their romance, Pitt filed documents to become the adoptive father of the boy. Since then, Pitt and Jolie have adopted Pax from Vietnam and Zahara from Ethiopia. They’ve also welcomed three biological children, daughter Shiloh, 10, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 8.

As fans of the couple may recall, one of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s last sightings together was an outing in West Hollywood, California. In early July, Pitt and Jolie were seen with Vivienne and Knox at the popular Griddle Cafe where they enjoyed a pancake breakfast in honor of the twins’ birthday. Also in July, just days prior, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were seen at a grocery store in Hollywood where they appeared to be gathering supplies for a 4th of July celebration.

The In Touch Weekly source claimed that because Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s kids are now grown, they were hoping to adopt a child who was around the age of their own children.

“Brad and Angie also believe that adopting an older child will make people aware of orphans who are often overlooked,” the friend explained. “According to Angie, everybody seems to want to adopt babies when there are so many other wonderful, worthy and deserving older children out there.”

“They feel that by adopting a child who is 10 or older, he or she will mix in better with their rambunctious kids, who are getting bigger by the day,” the source added.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie never officially confirmed the news of a possible adoption and at the time, the rumor quickly fizzled. Then, earlier this week, Hollywood Life claimed that Pitt and Jolie nearly went through with the adoption in hopes of becoming closer as a family just before they decided to part ways.

“At one point they were considering adding a seventh child to their brood via adoption to reinforce their bond,” the outlet told readers after Pitt and Jolie’s divorce was confirmed on Thursday.

In response to the story, sources spoke to Gossip Cop on September 20 and confirmed that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were never planning to adopt a seventh child.
